From across the border

Lee originally comes from Leeds and after a few months of a long distance relationship he moved from there to come and live with me in Wales.  Even though he loves living around here and says that coming to live with me was the best thing that has ever happened to him he does miss his family a great deal.  We don’t get to see his family much what with the cost of travelling and being away for a few days which is a shame as I know that they also miss Lee and love to see and spend time with little man.

As it has been a long time since we last saw his family we were looking forward to them coming down for the weekend to Wales for a visit.  As our place is small they had booked a caravan a few miles from ours to stay.  We had decided not to make any firm plans as the weather is so unpredictable.

We had a lovely relaxing weekend with them; spending time with them and showing them some of the local sites.  We visited the local town and went to a few of the gorgeous beaches that are dotted along our coastline.

The weekend went by so quickly and even though it was lovely to see and spend time with them it is a shame that they weren’t here longer so that we could have enjoyed their company for longer and done a few more things and visited a few more places.

It was lovely for little man to get to his Nana.  I feel bad at times that Lee doesn’t get to see his family because he moved to live with me and that they don’t get to see little man all that often especially compared to my family who see him on a very regular basis but the time we have with them is precious and I think we appreciate the time we have together even more because it isn’t every day that we get the time together.

Luckily we won’t have to wait so long this time until we see them again, plus other members of Lee’s family, as we are heading across the border and up North at the end of August and will be visiting them for a few days.

  1. It's such a shame that petrol and transport costs are so high nowadays. It makes it difficult to see friends and family that live far away. I've heard that Skype is good - if you are able to set it up.
