Gummy Bear 'The Yummy Gummy Search for Santa' DVD review.

We were recently sent a Christmas themed DVD from Lionsgate to review. Starring for the first time in a film Internet hit sensation Gummy Bear, who rose to fame with his pop-tastic, smash-hit song “I am a Gummy Bear (The Gummy Bear song)” features in the family festive DVD “The Yummy Gummy Search for Santa”.

Gummy Bear goes on a mad adventure to rescue Santa who has disappeared on Christmas Eve. To find Santa and save Christmas, Gummy Bear and his quirky, crazy friends Harry a Chameleon, Kala a Blue Cat and Vam Piro a squeamish vampire bat go on a thrilling mission to find Santa. Whilst on their ‘operation rescue santa’ mission the whacky gang have to contend with grumpy elves, grouchy reindeer and a dance-mad alien.

Little man loved this colourful, quirky film. He brightly coloured animation captivated his attention and the catchy, euro-pop inspired songs filled him with excitement whilst he boogie along to the film. The film is bonkers and a tad silly but it seems that silly and bonkers is what little man loves and as it is a hit with little man it is a hit with me too. The songs have the potential to be annoying (to adults, I doubt very much children would tire of singing and dancing to the catchy songs) especially if heard again and again and again however the sight of little man strutting his stuff to the songs is so adorable that I do not seem to find the songs irritating (yet) and at times cannot resist having a boogie to the songs too.

This fun, festive DVD features 8 songs, including 2 Christmas songs and 6 hit gummy songs one of which is Gummy Bear’s hit song “I Am A Gummy Bear”. The DVD has bonus music videos featuring catchy songs for your little ones to watch, sing and dance to –

* Christmas Is Coming
* La La I Love You
* Go for the Goal
* Mr. Mister Gummibear
* Bubble Up

Along with this festive DVD we were also sent a packet of lime jelly and a jelly bear mould so that we could make an edible version of Gummy Bear. I love the mould and I am sure it will get lots of use over the years.

I think this DVD is a festive, fun film that is sure to delight children and it makes for a great alternative festive film as it a tad different to well known, popular Christmas tales. With lots of laughs, music and dancing this DVD is great for entertaining little ones. The Gummy Bear Yummy Gummy Search for Santa DVD is available in a number of stockists, including Amazon who are currently selling the DVD for £6.00.

* Lionsgate kindly sent us this Gummy Bear DVD to review for free, despite this I have written an honest review that contains my own words and opinions *
