Vamousse– the new Sharp-Shootin’ Head Lice treatment.

Knowing that 1 in 3 UK school children aged between 4-11 will get head lice this year, since Bug started school I make sure to keep vigilant and check often for head lice with the help of our trusty nit-comb to make sure we catch an infestation straight away.  Thankfully even when there has been an outbreak of head lice at school with the inevitable ‘Head Lice alert letters’ being sent home asking parents to please check your child’s hair for infestation of those itchy bugs Bug so far had not had any head lice make their home in his hair……until now that is.

Following a recent head lice infestation at school as I doubled up my efforts to check his hair I found that he had a few itchy critters come home with him from school. Wanting to rid him of head lice and doing my duty to treat him in the hope of stopping him from infesting other children with head lice I reached for a new head lice treatment called Vamousse.

Vamousse claims to kill 100% of lice AND eggs within 15 minutes of contact thanks to its pesticide-free solution that will kill lice before they lay their eggs. The non-toxic, pesticide-free formula is a one-step mousse treatment that is safe to use on children aged 2 years+.

Vamousse comes with helpful, easy to understand and detailed instructions on how to use the mousse to treat head lice.

Vamousse is an easy to apply mousse that is used on DRY hair. To use the Vamousse head lice treatment you need to -
* shake the canister well
* split dry hair into sections
* apply the mousse onto DRY hair by spraying the mousse onto each section at a time at the scalp
* rub the mousse into the scalp and work down to ends of the hair so that the whole head is soaked in the solution – pay special attention to behind the ears and nape of the neck
* leave the solution in hair for 15 minutes
* once the treatment time is up use a nit-comb to remove the lice and eggs by combing the hair from as close to the scalp as possible right to the end of the hair, re-comb until satisfied the hair is egg and lice free
* shampoo hair once and towel dry

The mousse was very easy to use and I love that as it is a mousse we did not have to contend with messy drips. Thankfully Vamousse had no horrible chemical smell, was not harsh on his hair and did not leave his hair greasy afterwards which is a big plus. Another bonus for me is that there is no need to reapply.

The 160ml canister of Vamousse is provides plenty of solution for a single application for one person and even comes with a nit-comb.

As Vamousse was a quick, simple and very effective way to eradicate the problem of head lice we will definitely be using it again if Bug gets another infestation of itchy head lice.

Since we treated Bug with Vamousse we have been using the nit-comb to check his hair for re-infestation and so far there has been no new lice or eggs so thankfully no more itchy heads!

As well as checking his hair with the nit-comb we have also been using the Vamousse Protective Shampoo which repels head lice and helps prevent re-infestation.

To shampoo can be used on children aged 2+ years and on adults. For the shampoo to be most effective it is recommend that it is used for 2 weeks, following the steps below –
* put shampoo onto hair and work into a lather, massaging the shampoo into the scalp
* leave for at least 3 minutes
* rinse hair

As children can get easily bored and fed up whilst being treated Vamousse have created a fun game to keep children amused and occupied during treatment. Children can blitz head lice in Vamousse’s High Noon for Head Lice app which can be downloaded for free on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.

Bug loved banishing the 'baddies' in the fun game where children can Vamousse those varmits!

Vamousse Head Lice Treatment, which has an RRP of £14.99, is available in Superdrug, Boots, Tesco pharmacy and all good pharmacies in the UK.
