Stroller wish list.

Whilst I love babywearing and adore carrying Jelly Bean on a daily basis, there are times when it would be lovely to have a stroller available as an alternative option. Windy and rainy days doing the school run, shopping trips with heavy bags, or when others are helping to look after Jelly Bean, are times when the lack of a stroller is apparent and subtly missed.

Even though we do have a travel system it is so big, bulky, ugly, tatty and super heavy that I have banished it and neglect using it. Thanks to the steps outside of our house and the fact that it takes up the whole of our boot in the car, using it for quick trips to school or taking in the car to use on days out are more hassle than what it is worth.

With that in mind I have been thinking about the fact that it would be a good idea to welcome a stroller I actually like and that suits our lifestyle better into our home.

For days when I want to go shopping or when my mum who cannot babywear due to health reasons (but would love to if she could and would rock at it!) is helping look after Jelly Bean I want a stylish, lightweight and compact stroller.

Looking at strollers I have narrowed down our options to the following –

Summer Infant UME Lite stroller
Needing a lightweight stroller for our lifestyle I love the look of the affordable Summer Infant UME Lite stroller. Thanks to the ultra-lightweight aluminium frame that only weights 5.8kg, compact fold and carry strap it would be a stroller that I would be able to use without struggling with in and out of the house, and be ideal for trips further afield on days out.

Being suitable from newborn to little ones up to 15kg, it would be safe and suitable for Jelly Bean for a long time to come. For days when I have shopping the easy access, extra-large storage basket would come in handy. Another bonus is that on bad weather days when I have to go out for the school run regardless of the wild weather the rain cover would keep Jelly Bean protected, and if we ever get hot, sunny weather the large, multi-position canopy with flip out sun visor would be useful.

Silver Cross – Pop
With boasts of being the ultimate lightweight stroller and jam-packed with smart features such as fully extendable hood for maximum sun protection, calf support and lie-flat seat recline the Silver Cross Pop is an appealing choice.

Designed with ingenious roomier seat and taller back for ultimate comfort to growing little ones up to 25kg the Pop would be a worthwhile and longer lasting investment. As well as being an appealing stroller thanks to being lightweight, compact and practical; the stroller’s design that allows you to lift, open, fold and recline the stroller with one hand is especially appealing. I also love the stylish look and colourways of the Pop, having a particular fondness of the Aubergine stroller.

Cosatto
Having yearned after a product for Cosatto for a number of years now, it is only natural that they would end up on my wish list of strollers. Whilst I love all of their strollers and travel systems the award winning Supa is top of my list.

Having won the award for Best Lightweight Buggy/Stroller in the 2015 Mother and Baby Gold Award, the Supa with lightweight aluminium chassis with carry handle sounds like the one to meet my needs of a lightweight stroller.

As well as having useful features such as extendable UPF50+ sunshade, 4-way reversible Cosy Toes with zip-off liner, chest pads, a headhugger and adjustable calf support for comfort, and spacious storage basket; the strollers adjustable handle height means the stroller would be comfortable for a number of us to use when pushing Jelly Bean around. The stroller’s unique multimedia gadget pocket for learning and stimulation is also an appealing feature.

Greentom
As a family who are passionate about being eco-friendly I was delighted when I heard about Greentom and their eco-friendly stroller Upp which is described as being the ‘greenest stroller on the planet’.

Built from recycled and natural sources the Dutch designed Greentom Upp grows with little ones thanks to its 3-in-1 design – a carrycot for newborns, reversible, and classic. The Upp boasts brilliant safety features such as beltpads, safety harness and one-step-break. Not only is the Upp green it is also stylish with a vast range of fabric and frame choices available.

The Upp also seems to meet my needs of a lightweight, easy to use stroller thanks to the light yet firm frame made from recycled polypropene. Other appealing features are the anti-puncture tires, double ball-bearing shock-absorbing wheels, quick fold, and one-hand steering.

Do you have any stroller recommendations? Have you experience of any of the strollers on my wish list?
