Summer is approaching fast and if you, like many other homeowners, are looking for a little inspiration to spruce up your garden, it’s well worth going beyond the conventional, annual trip to the local garden centre and trying something new.

Two major gardening events organised by Toby Buckland, expert gardener and presenter of Gardeners’ World in partnership with Country Gardener magazine are lined up for this year.

The first takes place at Powderham Castle in Kenton on 29th - 30th April, the second at Bowood House in Wiltshire on 4th - 5th June. Both offer a huge variety of activities for green-fingered gardeners and children alike, making them ideal events for a fun, family day out.

You can expect a diverse selection of garden exhibitors and guest speakers as well as entertainments, craft stalls and food vendors which combine to lend the event a real festival feel. Tickets are available on the day but discounted prices are available for visitors who book online now.

Evenley Wood Garden
If you prefer to seek inspiration from plant life in its natural habitat, then pop along to Evenley Wood Garden in Brackley.

Spread over 60 acres, Evenley Wood is the quintessential English country garden.

Open from February to October, visitors are welcome to explore and enjoy picnics in the glades, gardens and woodlands, but special events are on offer including flower arranging workshops, garden photography lessons and informative talks on how to grow a garden in any space to boost your wellbeing.

Ticket prices vary and often sell-out so book early to avoid disappointment.

Woburn Abbey Garden Show
This award winning event in the beautiful grounds of Woburn Abbey has everything you might need to create a garden in any outdoor space.

You can expect live music, food stalls and informative talks from gardening experts, plus countless opportunities to pick up plants, garden furniture and crafts from the UK’s leading nurseries and outdoor living retailers.

The Chelsea Fringe
In terms of diversity, anything goes at the Chelsea Fringe! This event, which runs from 21st May – 12th June at numerous locations, from Cornwall to Aberdeenshire, offers a mind-boggling selection of garden-related spectacles in a huge number of categories.

From art installations and community gardens to workshops, walking tours and advice from specialists and enthusiasts in all aspects of gardening, the Chelsea Fringe really does offer something inspirational for everyone.

This event is a favourite for the team at the Stove Site because it offers a chance to see real gardens of all shapes and sizes in action.
