Christmas is fast approaching; we are on the cusp of welcoming December and starting the countdown to Christmas with homes across the country counting down the days till Christmas with the help of advent calendars.
I love this time of year when Winter Wonderland’s, Christmas fairs and Santa’s Grottos spring up across the country for children and adults alike to enjoy, shops and streets twinkle with Christmas lights and sparkling decorations and festive films fill TV schedules to be enjoyed when snuggling up on dark wintery days with the sparkling Christmas tree glowing in the background bringing festive cheer into the home.
This time of year is an exciting yet very busy time of year with people getting organised for Christmas doing festive tasks such as buying Christmas presents, wrapping Christmas presents and filling stockings with little surprises, decorating the home with tinsel and twinkly Christmas lights, baking tasty treats to enjoy over the festive season and organising the Christmas menu so that lots of delicious food is cooked to be enjoyed.
Also filling people’s social calendars during the festive season are Christmas parties where the festive spirit is at a high as partygoers enjoy music, a tipple or two and yummy food.
This year as well as attending a few Christmas parties we are also organising a Christmas come 50th birthday party for my mum who celebrates her big birthday three days before Christmas.
