Organic Zoo HUGGS Sheepskin Baby Boots Review from Scamps and Scallywags

With the cold winter weather that we have lately I was delighted when the lovely Jane from Scamps and Scallywags offered to send some baby boots for Tristan to test.  I was hoping that the baby boots would keep his feet warm in this bitter weather.

Scamps and Scallywags is a funky company who sell eye catching clothes, cute toys, gorgeous gifts and items that you won’t find on the high street.  Their mission is to provide customers with organic and ethically produced products for babies and toddlers that are fun and funky, providing style and individuality whilst also being practical and durable.  Their range of products includes items from Original Zoo who produce quality babywear, I adore their Little Rocker romper.  To see more information about Scamps and Scallywags see the post I wrote about them when I stumbled across their great website.  Scamps and Scallywags have a facebook page and can be found on twitter @funkyscamps.  Join them to keep up-to-date with Scamps and Scallywags’ news and offers.

We were sent a pair of Organic Zoo’s HUGGS Sheepskin baby boots in chestnut colour, size 6-12months for Tristan to wear.  The boots arrived in a cotton drawstring bag that has HUGGS Sheepskin imprinted on it and I was very excited about seeing these boots in the flesh.  Straight away I loved these boots; they are very adorable and cute and look very comfy.  They are very soft and are extremely well made using high quality 100% natural sheepskin.  The boots came joined together and I loved the little touch of being attached with cotton rather than plastic which you commonly see used to attach shoes together.  In my opinion this little touch and extra attention shows that these boots are made by a company who care about the product they are producing as well as having a concern for the environment.

These boots fit Tristan really well with there still being room for him to grow, they are very soft and cosy and Tristan is very comfortable wearing them.  I find them easy to put on his feet especially compared to some shoes we have for him, they slip on with ease and can be worn bare footed or with socks.  I have found that the laces come undone quite easily especially as Tristan is so active but this problem is easily overcome by double knotting them which I have found prevents them coming undone and the boots slipping off his feet.  Even though the boots slip on easily the laces can be a tad tricky to tie but I think that is just down to the fact that Tristan is such a wriggling monkey that he never stays still for more than a second!  These soft and comfy boots do not constrict Tristan’s feet and when your little one begins to stand up and walk the suppleness allows small feet and toes to flex and grip as they would bare footed as they learn to walk and gain stability in the precarious early months of walking.  Tristan is standing himself up and walking along furniture and these boots do not inhibit his moving at all.  The boots look very cute and ‘go’ with any outfit; I think Tristan looks adorable when he is wearing these boots with the Organics for Kids spotty romper.  In my opinion they look great worn up as well as wearing them down with the gorgeous sheepskin on show, I like how wearing them up covers his ankles and calves giving better protection from the cold.  Tristan has had  numerous positive comments about his new sheepskin boots when we have been out and about.  They look so cosy and warm that I wish I had a pair to keep my feet warm in this chilly weather.

I love that these boots are made with natural sheepskin and it reassuring to know that his feet are in the comfort and splendour of a natural material rather than an artificial material that you find in a lot of other boots.  The beauty of sheepskin is that it keeps feet toasty warm and dry; it is a wonderful natural insulator that is breathable retaining warmth and keeping the cold out.  As well as keeping feet warmer in the cold weather sheepskin amazingly keeps feet cool and lessens sweating during the hot weather so these boots would be perfect all year round.  They are made to a high quality and they look resilient and durable, one of the benefit’s of being made from sheepskin is that they will wear well and feel soft with it being an astonishingly long lasting material especially in contrast to a manmade fibre that is not as durable as natural sheepskin.

I love these HUGGS Sheepskin baby boots and highly recommend them; they are ideally suited for your little ones feet.  Not only do I love the fact his feet are being kept cosy and warm by a 100% natural product but I also love the fact the sheepskin is biodegradable so these boots are not only kind to Tristan’s feet but they are also kind to the environment.  I think these boots would make a lovely gift and they are perfect for keeping your little one's feet comfy all year round.

These cute HUGGS Sheepskin baby boots from Organic Zoo can be purchased on Scamps and Scallywags website for £39.90 which I think is great value for money as you are getting high quality boots made from 100% natural sheepskin that keep your little ones feet cosy, comfy and warm.  The boots come in 3 different sizes; 0-3months, 3-6months and 6-12months and there are two colours available; chestnut or sand.  Scamps and Scallywags also sell other Organic Zoo products for little ones; organic cotton bodysuits, rompers and t-shirts as well as other organic items for babies and toddlers from other fabulous companies.
