When I was a child my mum would often take us on short breaks in the UK. One of our favourite locations was Chester. The shopping was always great at Chesire Oaks Designer Outlet and in Chester city centre where I loved seeing the picturesque buildings. When in the area of Chester we would also take a day to visit Chester Zoo. Both my sister and I loved spending time exploring and seeing all the beautiful animals. Our times at Chester Zoo are some of my fondest memories from my childhood.
When I became a parent I always wanted to take my children to favourite family attractions from my childhood, with Chester Zoo being a top choice.
A few years ago whilst on the way to visit my partner’s family in Leeds we decided to stop off at Chester Zoo. Back in August 2012 when Bug was a mere toddler at the grand old age of 1 and a half years old we took him to Chester Zoo for the day where we had lots of fun and create memories as a family.
Unfortunately since then we have not managed to make another trip to Chester Zoo. However much to my excitement that is about to change as we are visiting Chester Zoo this summer to see the amazing array of animals they have and to explore their new PLAY! basecamp.
Encouraging visitors to laugh, have fun and explore Chester Zoo are asking kids you and old to come PLAY! At Chester Zoo this summer. Their new PLAY! space has been lovingly created by PLAY! experts with a HUGE 30ft baobab tree slide, sandpit area, interactive water area, The Lost Forests and play dates hosted by Zoo rangers at the PLAY! basecamp being just a few of the funtastic areas and activities kids can enjoy at Chester Zoo.
Also throughout the zoo Chester Zoo are challenging visitors to hone their animal impressions. Walk, leap, balance, hop, skip, climb and jump!!

Whilst we are hoping for a sun and blue skies if it does rain that will not dampen our spirits or stop the fun and play as we will don our wellies and jump in puddles!
As we prepare for our holiday and visit to Chester Zoo the kids have been playing the animaltastic games online and been listening to Chester Zoo’s animal themed spotified playlist to get in the mood for our visit to Chester Zoo.
