Dreaming of a new bedroom.

As my mattress is a few years old and starting to feel the effects of its age and use I have been considering buying a mattress topper.  Ideally I would love to get a brand new mattress but as our mattress is far from being on its deathbed with a few more years use left before it takes a journey to the tip the added expense of a new mattress is a luxury we cannot afford right now.  Rather than buy a mattress I thought a mattress topper would give our mattress a new lease of life and allow us to drift off to dreamland and enjoy luxurious sleep on a re-energised and comfy mattress.

Whilst considering the best mattress topper for our bed I began wishing that I could give our whole bedroom a new lease of life, giving our bedroom a spring overhaul and a new look.  Once I began wishing about giving our bedroom a makeover I could not stop myself from doing some virtual window shopping and swiftly found myself on one of my favourite sites for home-ware, the John Lewis website where I got lost admiring and desiring after lots of beautiful, amazing quality home-ware items.

I love big, majestic beds and especially love wooden beds.  Whilst browsing the John Lewis website I fell in love this gorgeous handpainted French style Aurelia bed made from solid pine with attractive scrolled head and footboards.  The Aurelia bed is at the top of my wish-list of dream items to re-vamp our bedroom with and if money was no objection I would adore having it as the centrepiece of our bedroom.  To go with the bed I would also love a pair of matching Aurelia bedside chests to adorn the bed on either side.  I love the antiqued silver effect handles with decorative locks on the 3 drawers.

I have always wanted a full length mirror in our bedroom and the Aurelia Cheval mirror would be perfect, complementing the grand bed and adorable bedside chests.  I also like the fact that this mirror is on an easel style stand and has 2 useful shelves making the attractive mirror functional.

If my dreams were to come true and I could afford my wish-list I would need a new duvet cover set as my tatty old duvet covers would not be worthy of a lovely new bed.  I love the John Lewis Silk Crocus Silk Waves Duvet cover set which I think would complement the Aurelia bed, adding a subtle hint of colour with the gorgeous waves of purple.  As I love throws I would also like the Roma Chenille throw in Cassis, perfect for snuggling under on colder nights.

I also have a fondness for cushions and think the range of Bluebellgray cushions are gorgeous.  My favourite cushions from the range are the Harebell, Jenna and Polly cushions.  They are all very beautiful with gorgeous colours and lovely designs.

As we have laminate flooring in our bedroom I would also love a big rug and the Designers Guild Phipps rug which is simply stunning.  I adore the colours in this rug and wish, wish, wish I could afford to buy it.

To add some adornment to the walls I would love the Lavender Heart decoration.  I love that the natural looking heart has lavender accents and think that it would add a touch of beauty to any room.  As I love photographs I love to display them everywhere and I think the Umbra Luna Photo Art Display in white would be perfect for beautifully displaying some of my favourite photos.  I think the understated frame would showcase my photos at their best and perfectly complement the white Aurelia furniture.

As I love twinkly lights I would also love the Butterfly lights and Orchid lights in plum.  I think these attractive lights would add a touch of romance to the bedroom….twinkly beautifully in the dark.

Now all I need to do is win the lottery or find a kind fairy godmother who will transform our bedroom and give it a new lease of life.
