Enjoy a magnificent Mmmonday this August Bank Holiday Monday with St David's.

With Lee busy working overtime this time of year and Bug and I only getting a few moments here and there to spend with him we had planned that on one of his rare days off this month that we would have a lovely family day out to enjoy some quality time together.  As we need to get Bug some new shoes plus we need to get some other bits and bobs we had hoped on hitting the shops and making a day of it at a shopping centre and then having a lovely meal out together as a family.

As I mentioned in my post about loving rural life, living in the countryside near the Cardigan Bay Coast in Wales we are miles away from shopping centres and even in the nearest towns there is a lack of a decent variety of shops.  Wanting to make a day of it and hit the shops big time even if we could only afford to get a few things and do some serious window shopping we decided to try and find the time in Lee’s busy work life to take the 2 hour trip to Cardiff.

I love shopping in Cardiff, I always have a fabulous time when we visit the city and I think the fact that we do not have a great variety of shops on our doorstep makes me appreciate trips to Cardiff even more.

With a trip to Cardiff for some retail therapy (even if it turned out to only be retail therapy in the form of window shopping) planned when I heard that St David’s shopping centre were hosting a exciting event every Monday in August I hoped to be able to combine our trip to Cardiff with the event to make our family day out even more fun.

Unfortunately though since we talked last month about a trip to Cardiff and arranging for Lee to has his day off on a Monday to make the most of the St David’s Centre event we have been hit we a few dramas and issues that has meant that our family day of shopping and a meal out would have to be postponed for the foreseeable future.

Even though we have missed out on the fun at St David’s shopping centre this August as there is still one Monday left this month and the event sounds great I thought I would tell you all about it.

St David’s shopping centre in Cardiff is adding a little more mmm to Mondays this August.  Mmmondays sees St David’s shopping centre host a great summer food event where St David’s are treating visitors to the shopping centre to a host of exclusive tasty offers and discounts in over 20 restaurants and cafes at St David’s, including Red Hot World Buffet, Yo! Sushi, TGI Friday’s, Ruby Tuesday and Ed’s Easy Diner.

If you want to save some money on eating out when visiting St David’s this Mmmonday so you have more money available for partaking in some retail therapy whilst at St David’s all you need to do is either register to download and print of an exclusive FREE Mmmondays voucher for this week or pick up a voucher at the Mmmonday Registration zone on the lower level of the shopping centre by Crouch and Jack Jones/Vero Moda.  With your Mmmondays voucher in hand you can then eat for less by showing the voucher at your chosen restaurant or cafĂ© when ordering to get the offer/discount on your meal.

The Mmmondays not only allows visitors to the centre to eat for less in the restaurants and cafes, it also gives access to the other offers and discounts in the centre on that Monday.  Livening up Mondays and making them more magnificent participating retailers including Hamleys, John Lewis, JoJo Maman Bebe and Lego are offering shoppers discounts to celebrate Mmmondays at St David’s.  As Bug loves Lego Duplo I had hoped that we would be able to make the most of the Mmmondays discount at Lego and treat him to some new sets.

The excitement of Mmmondays does not stop at tempting shopping discounts and foodie offers, making shopping at St David’s fun this summer retailers including Hamleys, Lego and Disney are hosting themed events, competitions and entertainment for children.  Creating an exciting carnival atmosphere St David’s are offering shoppers the chance to win some fantastic prizes by playing fun games such as ‘Spin the Wheel’ and ‘Bash the Hammer’.  Fun can also be had by learning how to decorate donuts at Krispy Kreme.  To remember the fun of Mmmondays at St David’s you can take a fun photo at the photo-zone.

Making Mondays even more magnificent St David’s are also giving shoppers a little treat to say thanks for spending in the centre during the Mmmonday experience.    If you spend over £10 in one transaction at St David’s then head over the Treat Zone, show your receipt and then receive a treat of your choice as a thank you for shopping with them.  St David’s are giving shoppers the choice of one of three yummy treats…Popcorn, Snowcones or Candy Floss.

As I am disappointed to be missing out on the fun of Mmmondays I will be stalking St David’s on twitter and facebook in the hope that if they ever host another exciting event again in the future we will hear all about it and be able to go to.

If you are in or around Cardiff this August Bank Holiday Monday pop along to St David’s shopping centre and have a magnificent Mmmonday with St David’s.
