Family life can be very
hectic. There is always something to do and the list of chores and
family events is never ending. Since becoming parents for the first
time over 5 years ago life has been busy and crammed full with things
to do and adventures with our little ones.
Now that we are a family
of four, my time to get things done around the house when Bug is in
school is gone with my time now occupied by a busy baby toddler. As I
don’t seem to manage to get through the long list of household
chores in the day anymore thanks to a busy, inquisitive and playful
Jelly Bean even once the kids are in bed and fast asleep my day is
not done as I try to catch up on some chores. Life as a parent is
tiring, endless and busy…..but thanks to the joy and love the kids
bring it is all worth it!
With life being so busy
and tiring I cherish any time I get to relax and unwind. For me the
best relaxing time is when I get to enjoy a long, hot soak in the
bath or when I get rare time to snuggle up and watch a film (even
better if I can last through the whole film without falling asleep!).
Lee’s idea of
unwinding is getting lost in the world of gaming and enjoying a game
or two in peace and quiet.
Relaxing means something
different to everyone. One person's idea of a relaxing time is
heavenly to some people, whilst others would hate it. My mum loves
reading books to relax, my mother-in-law finds tending to her garden
the ideal way to relax and unwind, and one of the mums on the school
run who I am friendly with always says she needs a big glass (or
bottle) of wine to keep her company whilst watching TV to relax with.
Whether you find a bath,
watching a film or gardening the best way to relax, I believe it is
important to take advantage of rare moments you do get to unwind and
relax so that you can enjoy some much needed “me time”. I know my
relaxing baths and chilled film time - regardless of how rare or
brief - helps keep me sane!
Rattan Direct are
looking at how parents unwind. To find out what parents do to unwind
around the home they have put together a survey.
The easy to answer
survey not only looks at what parents do to unwind around the home
but also your plans of celebrating Christmas this year and whether
Brexit has affected spending habits around the home and garden.
What do you do to unwind
and relax?
