North
Devon is one the most popular holiday destinations in the UK but
despite this, it still retains an old-world charm that keeps us
coming back year after year. From the dazzling coastline of Saunton
Sands to the medieval charms of Barnstable, there really is something
for everyone in this magical part of the UK.
If
you are coming for weeks’ worth of family holiday, you will need to
plan everything with military precision. Kids like to be kept
occupied so you need to plan activities for both sunny and rainy
days. Other than the things to do and places to visit, you also have
to decide where to stay, and there are lots of options to choose
from.
North
Devon holiday accommodation options
You
will probably have a good idea of what type of accommodation you want
for your weeks’ holiday, but a family favourite and a very popular
choice are North Devon holiday cottage rentals. With a large
selection of cottages to choose from, you really are spoilt for
choice. Self-catering is always a great option for families as you
are free to cook the kids’ favourites without having to rely on a
pub or restaurant menu every night. Caravans and camping are also
popular options but they don’t allow the same amount of space,
convenience or comfort that holiday cottage rental offers.
Things to do in North Devon that families will love
Here’s
a list of things that are suitable for families with children of all
ages. There are of course many more things to do and places to go and
a quick search through Google should lead you to them. Without
further ado, here are 5 family favourites for those holidaying in
North Devon.
1. Exmoor
Zoo - Right on the edge of Exmoor National Park, this park is known
for its wide selection of animals and also the great environment in
which they live.
2. The
Beach - With Saunton Sands, Croyde Bay and a few other hidden gems
to choose from, you simply cannot go wrong with a day at the beach.
Paddling, rock pools, sand castles and ice creams aplenty, what is
there not to like!
3. Watermouth
Theme Park and Castle - Entering this theme park is like a step back

is an all-weather attraction and is a family favourite for locals
