Lee and I
share a desire to travel and a passion for experiencing different adventures
and experiences. We both hope to travel to an array of countries across
the world and experience and learn a about different cultures. We both
have a strong desire to travel abroad and get married in south Africa on a
beach and enjoy a honeymoon slash holiday with our little family with one of the
highlights of the holiday (apart from the wedding of course) being a safari so see
animals in the wild. Even though the
idea of holidaying abroad is tempting there are also lots of places in the UK
that we both want to visit and hope to holiday at as a family over the years.
One of the
places in the UK we both want to visit is London. I have been to London once
before many years ago but would love to go back and Lee has never been before
and is passionate about experiencing the big city with his little family.
As Lee is eager to holiday at London we have been putting a little money aside
in a holiday money fund for a short trip to London.
There are
so many things we would love to do and see in London. We would love to explore London and sightsee,
experiencing what London has to offer in an array of different ways.
We both
want to see as many of London’s famous landmarks and sites as possible
including Big Ben, Tower Bridge, Wellington Arch, the London Eye and Abbey Road
to name but a few. Whilst there we would
also visit as many places, parks and gardens as possible including Covent
Garden, Leicester Square, Trafalgar Square, Hyde Park, and Piccadilly Circus. As a huge Tottenham Hotspur’s fan I know Lee
would love to visit White Hart Lane.
I have
always said that I would love to see a show in London. Even though I have seen shows and could see
shows across the UK I love the idea of getting dressed up and seeing a show in
the buzz and excitement of London before staying the night at a hotel in the
big city. The idea of seeing a show, any
genre of show, in London feels to me like a more glamorous, exciting and
special experience compared to seeing a show in driving distance to home and
returning home for the night after the show.
There are a number of shows I would love to see and if all goes as
planned I hope to get to see a show whilst on our little break to London. I would love to get my hands on Jesus Christ Superstar tickets as I have wanted to see the rock opera show for ages. I know that Lee would love to go to a comedy
show and I know that he would love it if he could go and see Mickey Flanagan at The O2. As we have Bug I would love to
find a family friendly show we could take him to, such as Disney on Ice, as I know
he would love it especially as he loved seeing Ice Age Live.
We also
would love to visit the British Museum and the Museum of London. As both Lee and I are art lovers we would
also like to visit art galleries including the Tate Modern and Tate Britain.
Whilst in
London we would also love to visit and experience Madam Tussauds, The London Dungeon
and the London Bridge Experience. One of
the places I would most love to visit with Bug is LEGOLAND Windsor, it looks
like such a fun place for children (and big kids too) and I think Bug would
have so much fun there.
No trip to
London could be complete without hitting the shops. I would love to visit the different shopping
areas London has on offer, from the markets to the quirky, unique shops to the shopping
centres to the department stores to the famous shopping streets to the luxury
shops. In short I want to hit the shops
in London even if it is only window shopping I can afford to do.
Think with
my long wish list of dream activities that I would love for us to experience on
a holiday in London I think we may have to save up for a longer holiday than a
short weekend break so that we have more time for fun filled experiences in London.
* I have received an e-voucher for
writing this post but all opinions are my own about planning and dreaming of a
holiday in London *
