Making music in the woods

We love spending time in the great outdoors. Coming a close second best to the beach as a prime location for adventures in the great outdoors are woods.

One of our favourite woodlands that is a mere 5 minute drive from home for us is Scolton Manor.

Scolton Manor Museum and Country Park is a Victorian manor house, museum and award winning visitor centre set in 60 acres of country park and woodland in Pembrokeshire, Wales.

Over the past few years since we have lived in Pembrokeshire Scolton Manor has been a firm favourite of ours and we have spent many days playing in the park, visiting the manor house, getting involved in the events and activities hosted there, and exploring the magnificent woodland.

The boys love the play park. They are always overjoyed to whizz down the big shiny slide and play on the wood play equipment.

Another highlight of Scolton Manor is exploring the woods to find the wood statues of Myths and Legends that are found throughout the woods.

A few of the creative statues can be seen in the video below when we explored Scolton Manor with SmarTrike - it was here that Jelly Bean met the owl in the video too!

A new love of ours at Scolton Manor is their recent Outdoor Musical Instruments. The range of musical instruments that are situated in a picturesque spot in the woods is a joy to behold. The kids - and us big kids too - love making sweet music in the woods, hearing our music resonate throughout the woods in a truly beautiful setting. The outdoor musical instruments are not only fun but stimulate the senses, evoke creativity and inspire imagination.

We look forward to more adventures in Scolton Manor over the next few years and can’t wait to see what other facilities that get added to Scolton Manor and its wonderful woodland.

  4. I love the outdoor music bit. My eldest would love that. We have one thing in the park where you blow into the holes and it makes music
