For
our UK summer staycation we are visiting a number of family friendly
attractions to have fun and make memories with the kids. As we will
be visiting Lee's family in Leeds during our city hopping staycation
up North we will be visiting some of Lee's favourite places and
attractions from his childhood so he can recreate and share some of
his cherished memories of when he was a young boy with his own
children. Top of the list is Lightwater Valley Theme Park in North
Yorkshire.
Offering
fantastic summer adventures for all the family, Lightwater Valley
boasts over 35 rides and attractions that are suitable for visitors
of all ages. With rides to excite older ones plus rides and
attractions for little ones too, Lightwater Valley is a fantastic
family friendly theme park for a thrilling good time.
As
Lee is looking forward to revisiting a firm favourite attraction from
his childhood with our kids and the boys are bubbling with excitement
about experiencing a theme park they've never been to before, we have
been looking at what rides and attractions Lightwater Valley has to
offer.
Rides
Lightwater
Valley's signature ride, The Ultimate roller coaster provides a
thrilling 1.5 mile cocktail of speed, cornering and airtime. Living
up to its name, The Ultimate holds the record as Europe's longest
roller coaster.
Take
to the skies in the grip of the Eagle’s Claw, venture into the
underground world of Raptor Attack, see the Park from a whole
different viewpoint aboard Black Pearl and then hop on Apollo and
take a spinning ride above the tree tops.
Enjoy
wet ‘n’ wild fun on the Wild River Rapids, and swashbuckling
adventures aboard speedy Skull Rock and the tummy-tickling Flying
Cutlass.
Classic
rides include Clownaround, the Carousel, Mini Ferris Wheel and Spinning Teacups.
There
is something for little ones too including the Lightwater Express
train ride around the park and Eagle’s Creek Farm tractor ride.
Also great for young fun is the Little Dipper, Pirate Swinger plus in
the Young fun area little ones can find the Space Pirates, Human
Cannonball, the Ladybug Ride and Noah's Ark.
Being
thrill seekers with a love of watertastic rides the boys cannot wait
to ride the Wild River Rapids. Lee cannot wait to experience his
favourite ride for childhood, the Raptor Attack ride (which was
called Rat Ride when he was a child) and see whether the refurbished
ride lives up to his childhood memories.
Family
fun attractions and children's play
The
fun is not limited to thrilling coasters and rides, Lightwater Valley
also has an array of family fun attractions and children's play
areas.
Enjoy
a round of golf at the Jurassic Adventure Golf course before heading
to the lake for a relaxing trip on the Swan Boats. There are also
Mini Sand Diggers and a huge Jumpin' Jack's Bouncy Pillow so kids can
jump to their hearts content. The park also have indoor play fun
thanks to Jester's Jungle Fun indoor play area, a toddler play area
and a soft play.
Sing-a-long
summer fun
Enjoy
some sing-a-long fun at the space-themed Magic Light UV Puppet Show
with daily shows from 22nd July at 11.30am, 12.30pm & 2.30pm.
Also
daily at 3.30pm join Jester & Jasmine, the Park’s friendly
dinosaurs, as they entertain the crowd with their dance moves and
sing-a-long to your favourite songs.

we love farm animals we are glad that we are visiting Lightwater
Valley in the summer when they have a Petting Farm.
All
summer long, from the 20th July – 2nd September, visitors ton the
theme park can meet the adorable farmyard animals including calves,
chickens a donkey, baby alpaca and more in the Petting Farm.
Summer

Visitors
will also be able to enjoy live music as part of the entertainment
for the first time with the launch of Summer Saturday Sessions from
27th July to 31st August.

ReplyDeleteOK now this looks like such a fun place to head and go to over the summer! So many different looking rides for all the family as well.

ReplyDeleteSounds like there is such a wide range for thriller seekers for the rides to something more tame like the petting farm for the younger children. I think my daughter would enjoy seeing the donkeys and chickens
