Little Coo phone cases are sensory phone cases designed to stimulate little eyes when carers are taking phone photos or videos of the little bundle of joy during the newborn stage as they create magical newborn memories.

Some family members had only met my second baby via video calls, and instead of him staring at the back of my plain phone, I wanted him to look at something engaging during these calls. I strapped baby sensory contrasting black and white images to the back of my phone for him to look at and voila. The idea was born. He suddenly became much more engaged, focused, and began to ‘coo’

  

To ensure her idea helped a baby’s sensory development, Liz approached parent and children’s learning charity Peeple to seek guidance on the phone case design and to carry out market research with the parents and babies the charity works with.

 

Becky Young, Local Delivery & Growing Minds Manager at Peeple said: “We were interested to explore how the concept behind Little Coo would work and invited Liz to visit one of our Peeple Learning Together Baby groups to test out her ideas with the families. The mums used a baby sensory phone case and placed it in front of their little ones and the babies of all ages were instantly engaged and responded beautifully to the black and white image on the case.

 

Hayley Hayle, Growing Minds Coordinator at Peeple adds: “Contrasting images support a newborn’s visual development, inviting babies to engage with the caregiver whilst offering stimulation that will keep them captivated for short periods of time.
