7 Tips for Avoiding Christmas Clutter

Who’s excited for Christmas??

If you’re simultaneously feeling delighted and mildly terrified that the festive season is upon us again, then you are not alone.

Whilst Christmas is magical, fun and a well-earned break, it can also turn into overflowing toy boxes, freezers stuffed with more food than you can possibly eat in a few weeks of festivities, and one or two stressed out parents.

If this sounds a bit like you at the moment, then well done for coming to this post and planning ahead! You have already earned yourself a mince pie and a mug of mulled wine.

Christmas Eve Box.

One of the family Christmas traditions that I love doing with my family is a Christmas Eve box.

As I love the magic of Christmas and Santa I believe a Christmas Eve Box adds a touch more magic and sparkle to Christmas, making the night before Christmas extra fun, magical and memorable.

Christmas day fun.

After the Christmas presents have been unwrapped and Christmas lunch been devoured until bellies are fit to bursting it can be tempting to curl up and have a nap but if you want the Christmas fun to carry on here are a few ideas of activities that you can enjoy Christmas day.

Play with presents
An obvious activity is to play with the new things you have received as Christmas presents. With the excitement of the day getting to children it can be a bit of a free-for-all with children being so excited they jump from one new toy to another. A good idea is to get them to pick one thing at a time to play with, getting them to play with it for a good time so that they are not jumping from one new thing to another too quickly.

Playing with new presents is not limited to the little kids let the big kids play with their new gadgets and toys too, and get playing with the kids and their new toys for lots of family fun.

Watch a Christmas film
Instead of curling up for a nap why not curl up and get cosy to watch a Christmas film instead. Relish the festive season and keep the Christmas mood alive with a classic Christmas film that the whole family can enjoy together. Sitting down to watch a film can also be a great way to calm excitable children.

Delivered from the North Pole.

As we are now a family of four and Bug is older with a greater understanding of events I am super excited about Christmas this year. With Bug being excited and enchanted by the wonder of Christmas even more than last year and this being Jelly Bean’s first Christmas I want to make it a magical time for my children.

To help bring the magic of Christmas and Santa alive this year Santa’s Post Office have provided the little ones with a Letter from Santa to open a little closer to Christmas.
