We are big advocates of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education. Not only does STEM learning give the boys a worthwhile learning experience and excellent foundation for the future but it helps make learning fun. They thrive when doing STEM based learning especially when it combines interests they already enjoy with things they want to learn more about and skills they want to further develop. 

My eldest boy T is passionate about art and has developed a keen interest in coding. As such he was excited about testing out an Artie 3000 Drawing and Coding Robot (RRP £69.99) from Learning Resources. 

As the name suggests this cute, clever robot is a drawing and coding robot. Using coding to ‘tell’ Artie where to move he can draw.

Pursuing a career as a professional photographer

I’ve always been a creative individual and enjoyed expressing my creativity in various ways. Putting pen to paper and writing poetry, drawing and painting trying new techniques and styles, sculpting and photography.

During my art GCSE and A-Level I developed my photography skills. I found photography a very enjoyable way to express my creativity. I loved trying different cameras, modes, experimenting with lighting, using varied subject matters and looking at different setups for scenes. I thoroughly enjoyed black and white photography and found developing my own photographs in the school’s dark room an exciting and memorable experience.

Having been a bookworm from a young age with a love of the written word, it is no surprise that as I got older I developed a love of writing. When I was a teenager I started dabbling with writing. I’d spend hours writing short stories, poems and songs.

I’ve always found writing to be relaxing, a lovely way to be creative and it can also be very cathartic. My love of writing is what inspired me to start this blog.

Whilst I love writing and adore my little space of the internet here where I can write about anything and everything as well as writing unpublished posts galore, I often wish I had more time to write creatively. Thanks to a hectic life I just never seem to get the time to sit down in peace to write poems, songs and stories as I used to. I miss writing where I can let my creativity shine. I often have ideas of stories to write and lines of poems popping into my head, but I never seem to have the time or energy to do much with them and actually put pen to paper.
