Funky Giraffe Bibs Review.

As Bug is currently teething he is dribbling loads, his tops are constantly wet with dribble which means changing him often. So when the lovely people at Funky Giraffe Bibs offered to send me some of their bandana bibs for Bug to try I jumped at the chance.

Funky Giraffe Bibs is a small company that was started in 2009 by a mum using her experience in the fashion industry to create lovely bibs for little ones. Being a mum she knew the importance of wanting quality products for your child as well as wanting them to look their best, so she came up with the idea of making the comfiest and nicest bibs she could to provide a quality bib that also gives children their own individual look. They produce their own products which enables them to maintain high standards and a good working environment. Also they aim to use the smallest amount of packaging and what they do use is biodegradable and they avoid waste by using every last bit of fabric they can, giving away bibs that have designs upside down rather than wasting. The company is environmentally friendly and ethical who considerately sell bandana bibs. Funky Giraffe Bibs now sell worldwide whilst maintaining their values of brilliant quality, good value and ethical production.

We were sent five bandana bibs for Bug to test. They came in a lovely box and I was thrilled at being sent so many. They are all different; a nice plain black one, a white one with a black handprint, light blue stars on white, red stars on white and a small red jolly roger. I haven’t bought a bandana bib before because I thought they were just an expensive bib to make your little one look funky and that a simple fabric bib would not be able to stop my little man’s dribble from getting him wet. I was keen to see whether these Funky Giraffe Bibs would prove me wrong. I could not wait to get one on Bug and see whether they could withstand my dribble monster.

The bibs are extremely well made and there is not a stitch out of place. They have a soft, high quality cotton front with a fleece backing. The fleece wicks away any moisture and keeps necks and chests dry. The bibs are shaped to fit neatly around baby’s neck and they close at the back with poppers, with there being 2 poppers for different size setting so you can adjust the bib to fit your baby. The bibs can be washed at 30 degrees.

I really like these bibs, not only do they look cute on Bug but they also came to the rescue and kept him nice and dry. The fleece backing works wonders and stopped any moisture leaking through, I could see the cotton top was wet with his dribble but his neck and chest was dry…..I am thoroughly impressed. I would also say that not only does the fleece lining aid dryness but provides softness and comfort too. I love that they also protect him from getting a sore neck from all of his dribbling.

I like that the bibs close with poppers as unlike Velcro they don’t ruin everything else in the wash and they enabled me to get a great fit. I love that they are shaped to fit around his neck neatly, helping keep him comfortable. As these bibs prevent any of his dribble getting on his clothes it is saving me from washing so often, great for me and the environment. They also wash really well and still look lovely and bright. I love the shape of the bandana bibs and it is great that I can still see his clothes in spite of him wearing a bib and the bib just enhances an outfit making him look like a cool little dribbler. The only slight negative I have is the tag, it is just a little pet peeve of mine as I think it’s a shame that it is quite large and sticks out from the bib and I feel it detracts from how lovely the bibs truly are….it would look nicer if it was a smaller tag stitched onto the bib in a lovely soft fabric with the stitching around all of the tag so it doesn’t stick out. I do love the designs though, they are funky and bright. The black is great as it goes with everything and looks smart, I love the bright starts against the white, the red jolly roger is so vibrant and I love the little skulls and I adore the hand-print, it looks so cute and really stands out and looks great on.

The lovely people at Funky Giraffe Bibs also sent us a long sleeved bib. Like the bandana bibs it is excellent quality and is very well made. It’s perfect for protecting your little one and their clothes when getting messy.

Thank you Funky Giraffe for keeping my little man dry and his clothes dribble free. These bibs are great value for money and perfect for mummies and daddies of little dribblers to get to keep their little ones dry from dribble.
