Popular CBeebies character Mr Tumble and his Something Special show has not only helped raise awareness of inclusion and children with disabilities but it has also provided children with disabilities a fun show to watch and learn from.

To complement the groundbreaking Something Special show there is also a range of Mr Tumble Something Special toys that are specially designed to make learning fun for children of all abilities. 

The Mr Tumble Something Special Learning Pad encourages children aged 2 years + to learn with Mr Tumble and his friends. The interactive learning pad with touch sensitive screen includes 6 activities to play for children to learn about musical instruments, sounds, colours, numbers and shapes. 

The learning pad features buttons with images on them that little fingers can press to hear fun sounds and facts. The colourful learning pad with fun images on the buttons are appealing and entice children to play and explore the different buttons. The touch sensitive screen makes playing and learning fun and easy to do.

It is a chunky rectangular shaped pad that features a padded, textured and rounded rubber edging which not only protects the pad but also makes it easy and comfortable for little hands to hold. The chunky design of the learning pad means that it is very durable so can not only withstand a lot of loving play but if it does get dropped or thrown it’s tough design means it does not break. 

The learning pad features a big on/off button and volume control button. The sound from the speaker is good quality and with Mr Tumble and characters talking it makes the learning pad familiar to little ones.

The touch sensitive buttons are ideal for little ones to press. Not only are the buttons soft to the touch but also durable too so you can feel reassured that they will withstand lots of play without breaking. 

The different activities such as colours, numbers, shapes and letters plus the interactive quiz means that there is lots to explore with the learning pad and children are challenged to answer Mr Tumble's questions.

The inclusion of popular Mr Tumble characters and items adds familiarity with it being perfect for fans of the Something Special Show. Not only do children see images of familiar Something Special characters but when the characters are pressed they ‘speak’ which adds to the familiarity and continuity from the show to the toys. It also includes Makaton signs which not only supports familiarity for children who watch the show but by including them it raises awareness and makes the Makaton signs more mainstream.

Both our middle child and his cousin who has autism and is a huge fan of Something Special have loved playing with the learning pad.
