BBC Music The Biggest Weekend

Being a proud welsh woman I love to support and champion all that Wales has to offer. Majestic natural wonders and beautiful sights are abundant throughout our country. Amazing attractions offer fun, adventures and fantastic days out. Historic monuments adorn our scenery. Incredible events hosted in Wales wonder and delight.

I love that more and more events are being hosted in Wales with a few of our recent favourites being the magical Disney On Ice show and the breathtaking Monster Jam show. One big event coming up in South West Wales that I think is also awesome is BBC Music’s Biggest Weekend!

Tiny Tickers BBC Lifeline Appeal

Airing Sunday 21st May 2017, 4pm on BBC 1 & Wednesday 24th May 2017, 1pm on BBC 2

Every two hours a baby is born in the UK with a serious heart condition. Congenital heart disease (CHD) is one of the biggest killer of babies in the UK, causing one in every 13 infant deaths. Early detection of heart defects means babies will get the treatment they need from the first opportunity – which can save lives, improve post-surgery survival rates and lead to a better long-term quality of life.

Tiny Tickers is the only national charity with a focus on improving the early detection, diagnosis and care of babies with heart conditions. Congenital heart defects are the most common type of birth defect and it is Tiny Tickers’ ambition that no baby should ever die with an undetected heart defect.

Strictly Come Dancing - a little history of the show.

Whilst I cannot confess to being a die-hard Strictly Come Dancing fan or to watching the show religiously, I do enjoy watching the show every once in a while when I’m not busy catching up on household chores – oh the glamour!

Watching the show gives me a glimpse into a world of glamour where celebrities and their dance partners look amazing as they show off their moves showcasing different dances to the beat of the music.

I must admit I sometimes feel a hint of envy at all that glamour and the fabulous costumes as I watch sitting in my old but very comfortable PJ’s with my hair a mess and my face showing the signs of tiredness. Plus having no rhythm at all myself it is nice to watch people with talent amaze me with their wonderfully choreographed dance routines. I find myself imagining that in another universe where I had a touch of rhythm and talent that it was me up on the famous Strictly stage dancing away in an extraordinary costume (a sparkly one often features in my day dream).
