Christmas decorations - the nations favourite.

One of the many things I love about Christmas is Christmas decorations. Having a fondness for twinkly lights and sparkle Christmas provides with an excuse to deck the house with lots of lights, sparkle and shimmering decorations.

Whilst I do not go all out and decorate the inside and outside of the house head to toe in Christmas lights and decorations (I dread to think of the cost to do so, buying and then running so many lights!) I do like to full the living room in particular with a fully decorated Christmas tree, lots of twinkling Christmas lights, a touch of sparkling tinsel and novelty decorations.

Like most of my style, my Christmas decorations style is a tad eclectic. I do not really stick to a theme, deciding to simply decorate with decorations I like even if they differ in style. As Lee prefers a set style this year he and Bug decided to decorate our Christmas tree in a set of colours, sticking with a theme of red, white and silver.

Crafting a little Easter Friend - #craftylicious fun

Today Bug has been getting excited about Easter by doing some Easter and spring themed crafts.  He especially enjoyed making a little Easter friend using a craft kit he picked when we popped into Poundland yesterday.

Having a soft spot for sheep I was not surprised when he dismissed a little chick and a cute bunny in favour of an adorable sheep.

Time for a tuff spot tray?

I am a very creative and crafty person.  I love art and expressing myself creatively via a range of different mediums.  I think my passion for all things creative stem from my childhood.

I have fond memories of being creative with my mum and sister.  My mum enabled us to express ourselves creatively and simply have fun with art and crafts.

I love getting creative and crafty with Bug and hope that over the years we can make some fun memories together that he will look back on in years to come and reminisce about enjoyable times getting arty and crafty with his mummy.

Bug loves drawing, colouring, painting and using a variety of other arts and crafts.  I love to see him play and explore with different crafts mediums and I encourage him to simply have fun and enjoy.  I think taking part in messy creative play is a great way for little ones to learn, be creative and simply have lots of fun.

Up until now all of our creative messy play session has either been at the kitchen table or on the living room floor with a plastic, wipe-able craft sheet used as our arts and craft area to contain any mess.  During our last few messy art and craft sessions Bug and his creative juices has spilled out from our arts and craft area with his mess ending up everywhere!

Crafting a creative bedtime story.

Bug and I often enjoy getting creative, having lots of messy fun painting and being crafty.  Even though we partake in messy, crafty play a few times a week and I usually take a photograph or two of our creative play I never seem to get round to writing about it and sharing the photographs.

Bug thoroughly enjoyed getting creative with mummy when we recently crafted a creative bedtime story together called ‘Goodnight little chick’.

As always Bug delighted in getting messy painting, enjoying using a rainbow of colours to create his lovely painting for our little story.

A short bedtime story - Goodnight little chick.

The sun is setting on the farm
Time for the animals to head to the barn.

Tired Little Chick has been busy all day
Exploring the farm and playing in the hay.

But before Little Chick heads to bed
She wants to say goodnight to her friends on the farmstead.

My little Picasso.

I love arts and crafts.  I have fond memories of doing arts and crafts with my mum when I was a child and ever since art has been a passion of mine.  I love being creative and expressing myself artistically.  Even though I only dabble nowadays I thoroughly enjoy myself when I can get creative and can immerse myself in arts and crafts.  As I love arts and crafts and have brilliant memories from childhood of being creative and having fun I like to have fun with little man and get creative together.

Over the weekend little man and I got creative together.

Easter fun for kids (for mums and dads too!)

Easter is a great time to get crafty with little ones and there are so many fantastic things to do that are fun for little ones.  I love art and craft as does Lee, we are a very creative family and we both want Tristan to have lots of fun getting crafty as he grows up.  Craft activities are great for children, it’s a great way to entertain them and it encourages their creativity and imagination whilst they are having lots of fun.  The list of ideas for fun for Easter themed crafts is endless, below are a few of my favourite fantastic craft ideas –
