Teething Bling Pendant Review

Bug is currently teething and suffering with it. He is constantly dribbling and chewing on anything he can get his hands on. I am constantly on the look out for anything that will ease his pain. We have numerous different teethers, but I was very interested in Teething Bling as it’s not just a teething aid for Bug.

I was over the moon when Lynne Churchill from Smart Mum offered a Teething Bling® Pendant for Bug to test for a review. As stated on their website, Teething Bling is the original teething jewellery and their teething jewellery allows mums who have stopped wearing jewellery because their curious babies love to grab and chew to have some beautiful jewellery to wear again that is safe for babies to handle and chew.
The pendants and bangles are safe for baby as they are made the same material as most teething toys. You can be sure that they are safe as Teething Bling went through four years of rigorous safety testing and they carry the CE trademark which means they meet strict safety standards. As described on their website, Smart Mum’s teething products are non-toxic, BPA, PVC, phthalate, latex and lead free; so safe for your baby to get their mouths around and have a good old munch on. They also ensure for added safety that all their pendants have a breakaway clasp so if baby gives a good old tug on the pendant it just breaks free.

The parcel arrived the next day and I was very excited about seeing what pendant Lynne had sent me. Inside the parcel was a beautiful organza bag containing a ‘Spice’ Teething Bling pendant and a little information card that was very descriptive. It was so beautifully packaged it felt like I was getting a gift, I would say it is a perfect gift for any mum or mum-to-be.

I was happy for Lynne to send me any of the vast colour ranges that they do and she sent me one of their newest colours the ‘Spice’ pendant. If I am honest this isn’t a colour I would normally go for as I personally like sparkly or brighter colours more and I am not very adventurous in trying new styles and colours. Also I have found that Bug is attracted to bright colours so I would have gone for a colour that I believed would grasp his attention more or the 'Zebra' as it's high contrasting black and white. Having said that though it is still a lovely pendant and its good try a different style that I wouldn’t usually go for. Also I like that it is a different colour to those that I have often seen being reviewed or in giveaways, apart from on Teething Bling’s own website I personally have never seen the ‘Spice’ pendant before. It has a lovely array of colours and I like that it has a marbled, flecked affect, which is very appealing to the eye. When Lee saw it he thought it had a very African or South American style to it, which he liked.

I had expected the doughnut shaped pendant to be harder than what it is because the ‘Jade’ and ‘Lapis’ colours in particular remind me of gemstones, it is quite solid but with a bit of flexibility and feels like a few of the teethers we already have. The pendant is on a lovely silky black cord, which feels nice against my skin and I particularly like it as I have very sensitive skin and have had allergic rashes to some jewellery before but I don’t have to worry about this with the Teething Bling jewellery. I really like the breakaway clasp too as Bug has given a few strong tugs on it and instead of being a strangled mummy it has just broken free.

Bug was very interested and intrigued with what was around mummy’s neck when I first put it on. It’s a nice size and weight for him to hold and play with. He started off just playing with the pendant, fiddling with it and looking at it with keen interest. He then started chewing on the pendant. It’s a perfect size for him to hold and munch on. He chews on it regularly now with a big gummy smile on his face and it definitely seems to satisfy his need to munch on things to ease his discomfort. I have found it distracts him and it’s perfect to keep him entertained and his need to chew satisfied when out and about. Also when breastfeeding him he has on a few occasions played with the pendant whilst he feeds.

It is so nice to be able to wear jewellery again that not only looks lovely but I know is safe for Bug to get his chubby little hands on. It’s a great concept and it’s a fabulous two in one product, a teether for baby and a stylish pendant or bangle for mum. I would highly recommend teething bling and I would definitely get another pendant in a different colour for a different look and a few bangles.

Teething Bling do a wide range of colours, with there being plenty to choose from to suit your own style and taste. From neutral colours like ‘vanilla bean’ to bright ‘apple candy red’ to shimmering glamorous ‘gold’ the range of colours is vast. They are all stunning and will help any mummy show off her yummy-ness.

You can buy pendants for £12.95 and bangles for £8.95 or you can get a gift set of a pendant and bangle for £19.95. All can be bought on Teething Bling’s online shop and all details about them can be found on their website. Also Teething Bling have a facebook page and you can also find them on twitter.

* Teething Bling kindly gave us this pendant to review for free, despite this I have written an honest review that contains my own words and opinions and is 100% my own *
