Need a new car? Make it real with these top tips

Whether you need a car, or a new car, buying one can sometimes be quite traumatic. There are a myriad of ways to do so, you just need to find the right one for you. Saving is always a bit easier when you have some kind of strategy to do so. Buying the car doesn’t need to be a bad experience either. Some people hate the whole thing, and that is understandable. But if you want the best deal and the best price possible you need to clue up before you start negotiations. These tips can help you on your way to car ownership. They aren’t all encompassing, but they can certainly help you on your way. If you’ve thought about the below tips already, then great, but they might jog your memory and help you think of other things that can help.

Pick the right garage
This is ultimately important. You need to make sure you pick the right place from which to purchase your vehicle. At the outset, this might be a decision between going to a private seller or car garage. Whether you’re looking at a smaller seller or something like affordable-cars, you need to do your research. In the first instance this can be in the form of looking at reviews. Have a look and see what you think. Are they mainly good or bad? Has anyone you know bought a car recently and if so can you get their feedback. You also need to take into account the type of car you’re after. Some garages excel at selling certain products. Whether they be vans or luxury sports cars. Find the garage particular to what you want to purchase. Don’t be fooled into thinking the nearest is the best either. If you have to take a longer trip to get to a better garage then it is well worth it.

Save the most you can
The bigger your deposit the more leverage you have with the dealer. So it makes sense to save as much as you can. People do it in different ways. Some like to do it weekly, others monthly. It depends on your appetite for it and how aggressively you want to save. There are ways you can help. If you have any skills or appetite for further work you could start a side hustle, earning more money on your day job means you can save more cash, just don’t over stretch yourself. Marginal gains is the best way forward. Does you bank card allow you to save the change? Meaning that everything you spend it rounds up to the nearest pound and saves the difference. It doesn't sound like much but over time it can add up quite nicely.

Make sure you know your hints and tips
Buying a car is something of a game if you go to one of the major showrooms. If you go without any preparation you could be overpaying for the car. If you’re not good with negotiation consider taking someone that is. You’ll get a better deal if you try to buy at the end of the month. You’ll also get a better deal if you buy in the opposite season. Meaning if you want a convertible, you’d be better off buying in the winter, and a big off roader in the summer because the corresponding seasons mean it’ll be a little cheaper.
