Easter Bunny Bounce fun day.

Making the most of the spring sun and not having work we had a lovely family day out at a local Easter Bunny Bounce fun day kindly organised by the Milford Haven Round Table.

As we arrived for an afternoon of fun the sun was shining down on us warmly. Bug’s face shone with excitement as soon as he saw the large selection of fun bouncy castles waiting to be bounced on.

Enjoy a magnificent Mmmonday this August Bank Holiday Monday with St David's.

With Lee busy working overtime this time of year and Bug and I only getting a few moments here and there to spend with him we had planned that on one of his rare days off this month that we would have a lovely family day out to enjoy some quality time together.  As we need to get Bug some new shoes plus we need to get some other bits and bobs we had hoped on hitting the shops and making a day of it at a shopping centre and then having a lovely meal out together as a family.

As I mentioned in my post about loving rural life, living in the countryside near the Cardigan Bay Coast in Wales we are miles away from shopping centres and even in the nearest towns there is a lack of a decent variety of shops.  Wanting to make a day of it and hit the shops big time even if we could only afford to get a few things and do some serious window shopping we decided to try and find the time in Lee’s busy work life to take the 2 hour trip to Cardiff.

I love shopping in Cardiff, I always have a fabulous time when we visit the city and I think the fact that we do not have a great variety of shops on our doorstep makes me appreciate trips to Cardiff even more.

With a trip to Cardiff for some retail therapy (even if it turned out to only be retail therapy in the form of window shopping) planned when I heard that St David’s shopping centre were hosting a exciting event every Monday in August I hoped to be able to combine our trip to Cardiff with the event to make our family day out even more fun.

Unfortunately though since we talked last month about a trip to Cardiff and arranging for Lee to has his day off on a Monday to make the most of the St David’s Centre event we have been hit we a few dramas and issues that has meant that our family day of shopping and a meal out would have to be postponed for the foreseeable future.

Even though we have missed out on the fun at St David’s shopping centre this August as there is still one Monday left this month and the event sounds great I thought I would tell you all about it.

Family night in.

With Lee busy working lots of late nights and overtime lately Bug has been missing his daddy a lot.  Bug has not been very happy about seeing so little of his daddy.  As Bug is dearly missing his daddy when Lee is not working we are making most of the little amount of free time we have together.  Even though it is hard with Lee working so much lately, especially with Bug missing him so much and Bug and I being stuck at home as we only have 1 car and live miles away from public transport, when Lee is home we are now getting quality time together, making the most of what little time off he has.

A few days ago Lee had a little time off so we jumped at the chance of spending some much needed time together.  As Lee is shattered from working so hard we decided to have a lazy few hours together at home and enjoy a family night in and watch a film together.

I let Bug chose what film he wanted us to watch as a family.  After looking at a number of the choices I offered him he ended up picking a DVD that his Aunty Boo recently gave him, Alvin and the Chipmunks.

A Swinging Good Time.

With the nice weather we have been having little man and I have been enjoying the outdoors more than ever.  We have been going on lots of walks, having fun at playgrounds and enjoying the beautiful beaches we have on our doorstep.

Little man absolutely adores going to the playground.  His favourite thing at the park is the swings.  He giggles and smiles when he goes on the swings.

The Art of Roughhousing Book Review

Having grown up playing outdoors and enjoying lots of rough and tumble I think it’s good for children to enjoy physical fun and that we shouldn’t wrap our children up in cotton wool, discouraging them from having physical fun.  Little man is very boisterous, he has always been a very active little boy maybe even a tad wild and loves physical fun; with no encouragement or suggestion from mummy or daddy by himself he even started wrestling pillows on the floor when he was about 7 months old, rolling around like a mad man.  As little man loves physical fun and daddy in particular loves his rough and tumble play with him we were excited about the opportunity we were given to review a book all about good old-fashioned roughhousing.

Water - See It, Snap It, Love It

This week's theme for Dear Beautiful Boy's weekly See It, Snap It, Love It photography challenge is water.  If I had to choose a theme I would have chosen water too so I am pleased that it is this week's theme.

I love water and Mother Nature has created some stunning rivers, waterfalls and oceans which are beautiful and amazing.  I have always been fascinated by the oceans and the creatures who inhabit them.  I love the sound of running water, the sound of a river flowing is a calming noise and there is nothing quite like being curdled up at home listening to the sound of the rain outside. Not only does water look and sound great but it has other amazing qualities too, it replenishes us and gives life to plants and animals.

My First Justin's Jokes Review

Tristan is an active and very busy little boy who never stays still for more than a minute apart from every once in a while when one of his favourite shows are on the TV.  We visit the land of Cbeebies everynow and again to watch some of the shows he likes; Raa Raa the Noisy Lion, Octonauts and Tinga Tales always gets his attention.  Once in the land of Cbeebies it is hard to not notice the very popular performer Justin Fletcher.  He entertains little ones on children’s shows including Gigglebiz and his new show Justin’s House.  Not only does Justin Fletcher entertain little ones on the television but in March he released his new album “Hands Up… The Album” which is an album filled with fun songs to amuse little ones and get them singing and dancing along to the CD.   Tristan loves having a little boogie to this album and listens to it often (click here to read about what we thought of this album when we reviewed it).

But Justin isn’t stopping there!!  The talented Justin Fletcher has released his first book for pre-schoolers.  The book titled “My First Justin’s Jokes” is a joke book aimed at children 2 years + packed full of jokes to entertain little ones.
