Anylock sealing rods and bag set review.

As I try to be frugal and environmentally friendly I try to limit our food wastage by using plastic tubs and containers to store left over food safely and to keep food fresh.  Even though plastic containers are great for storing food they do take up a lot of space and are not always suitable.  For food in packets I use pegs in an attempt to keep the food fresh and to try and prevent spillages.  Even though the pegs are good for closing packets I find they are not always great for fully securing packets and keeping food fresh.

When HomeStorage4U offered to send me an Anylock Sealing Rods and Bag Set, I jumped at the chance of testing a set out and see whether it would be a great solution for my food storage issues and an alternative to plastic containers.

National Trust Free Weekend.

We love the National Trust, we love visiting National Trust beaches (it was at Penbryn beach that Lee proposed to me) and I have enjoyed lots of lovely days out at National Trust properties over the years.  As we are huge fans of the National Trust but are not currently members I got very excited when I saw that the National Trust has a great offer of free admission.

This weekend, the 20th and 21st of April, the National Trust is opening up its doors to more than 200 houses and gardens for free.

To take advantage of this brilliant opportunity of visiting National Trust properties for free this weekend simply visit the National Trust website and download and print a free visit voucher to print to take with you to a National Trust place.  Not all properties are participating in this free weekend, to see which properties are free to visit this weekend and which properties are not taking part a full list is available to view on the National Trust website.

As a National Trust membership is a luxury we simply cannot afford at the moment I hope to take advantage of this brilliant offer of free admission and visit one of the special National Trust places near us for free this weekend.  Sadly I was not aware of this free weekend until now so I have missed the chance of visiting a National Trust place today but I hope to be able to visit somewhere tomorrow and a National Trust fix.

To plan your free weekend visit head to the National Trust website and see what’s on and download a free weekend voucher to use to visit a National Trust place.

Dreaming of a new bedroom.

As my mattress is a few years old and starting to feel the effects of its age and use I have been considering buying a mattress topper.  Ideally I would love to get a brand new mattress but as our mattress is far from being on its deathbed with a few more years use left before it takes a journey to the tip the added expense of a new mattress is a luxury we cannot afford right now.  Rather than buy a mattress I thought a mattress topper would give our mattress a new lease of life and allow us to drift off to dreamland and enjoy luxurious sleep on a re-energised and comfy mattress.

Whilst considering the best mattress topper for our bed I began wishing that I could give our whole bedroom a new lease of life, giving our bedroom a spring overhaul and a new look.  Once I began wishing about giving our bedroom a makeover I could not stop myself from doing some virtual window shopping and swiftly found myself on one of my favourite sites for home-ware, the John Lewis website where I got lost admiring and desiring after lots of beautiful, amazing quality home-ware items.

Little dog lost.

A little over a fortnight ago I was devastated when our little dogs went missing.

We have 2 dogs; both are Bichon Frise breed.  Trixie the eldest of the two is nearly 8 years old and Sassy the baby of the dogs was 6 years old this past December.  They are both lovely dogs and Bug adores them.

Splishy splashy shenanigans.

For Bug’s birthday at the end of March his family across the border in England sent him money so that we can get him some new toys as a birthday treat.  Since his birthday the money has been snuggled safely inside Bug’s ‘piggy bank’ until we had time to hit the shops.  With our naughty little doggy going missing for over 4 days and all of us being struck down with illness until yesterday we had not had a chance to go shopping for Bug to spend his birthday money.

As Bug loves having a stroll through the shops with mummy I did not want to order his new toys online so decided to wait until we had time and were feeling better to get busy shopping.  I decided the need to go shopping for Bug to spend his birthday money would be a great excuse to go further afield and hit the shops at Swansea so that Bug would have a wider range of toys to choose from compared to some of our local shops.  Another bonus from heading to Swansea would be that we could pop in to visit my sister at the same time as Bug loves seeing his Aunty Boo.
