Munchkin Monsters Toddler Dining Set Review.

We love Munchkin; their colourful and fun bath toys are great for water babies who love splishy, splashy bath time fun and their Click Lock cups are invaluable leak and spill proof cups.  We fell in love their Click Lock cups when we reviewed them and they are now the only cups we use; Bug loves the bright colours of the cups which are a great shape for him to hold and drink from and I love the fact that even after being excessively used over a period of many months they are still 100% leak and spill proof.

As we love Munchkin we were excited about Munchkin’s exciting news that they have teamed up with Disney Baby.

Win a Yoomi 8oz Feeding System and Little Lamb Warmth Within Plush

As a parent I love finding products that are innovative, useful and that help life a little bit easier for busy parents who have little ones to look after and care for.  One such product that I think is brilliant for making life easier is Yoomi’s pioneering feeding systems that helps take the hassle out of warming up feeds.  When I reviewed the Yoomi 8oz feeding set, I loved the product and the only issue I could find was the time it took to re-charge the warming unit, since then Yoomi have invented a solution to the time issue with their unique and practical Yoomi Pod which is a microwaveable charging unit for the warmer.  When I reviewed an 8oz feeding set with the new pod I thought the pod was the perfect solution to solve the timing issue as it drastically reduces the re-charge time making this product even better than it already was.  As well as having clever feeding sets Yoomi also sell Warmth Within Plushes and when we reviewed their Little Lamb plush both little man and I feel in love with the huggably, soft little lamb.

As a big Yoomi fan I was delighted when Yoomi kindly offered a brilliant prize to giveaway to my lovely readers.  The lovely people at Yoomi are generously giving one of my lucky readers the chance to win one of their brilliant 8oz feeding systems and a adorably cute Warmth Within Plush.

Yoomi Pod Review

A few months ago we tested and reviewed the Yoomi bottle and warmer.  I thought that Yoomi’s bottle warmer was an extremely innovative product.  I thought that it was a great bottle that makes warming your baby’s milk quick and easy by a touch of a button and perfect for taking the hassle out of warming feeds.  Following through testing I could only find one fault……the time it took to recharge the warmer.

Since then Yoomi have created a new product called the Yoomi Pod that was designed to make charging the warmer quick and simple.  As Yoomi have created this new innovative Pod that looks like a solution to the only fault I could find with the Yoomi bottle and warmer I was keen to see if the new charging Pod takes the hassle out of charging the warmer and if it helps to make “Yoomi the ultimate baby bottle”.

Annabel Karmel's Essential Guide To Feeding Your Baby And Toddle App Review

Last year I was asked to review the 20th Anniversary Edition of Annabel Karmel’s Complete Baby and Toddler Meal Planner book (see review here) and I loved the book.  I have frequently used the book and Tristan has enjoyed lots of tasty meals that mummy has made him following the recipes in the book.  As I love her book when I was asked to review her iPhone app I was eager to test it out and see if it was as good as her book.

A little messy weaning journey

Tristan loves his food and I have loved watching him on his weaning journey, experiencing new tastes and textures.  We weaned Tristan when he was 20 weeks old starting with baby rice and pureed food and once he was 6 months old he quickly progressed from pureed food to feeding himself fingers food and he now enjoys a wide variety of different foods and textures.

Enjoying his first foods.

Annabel Karmel's New Complete Baby and Toddler Meal Planner Book Review.

As we are now weaning Bug I was thrilled when we were offered the opportunity to review the 20th Anniversary Edition of Annabel Karmel’s Complete Baby and Toddler Meal Planner book. Bug started his adventure with food when he was 20 weeks old, starting with baby rice and then onto basic, simple home made purees. At times I have also resorted to shop bought pouches and jars too even though I really want to prepare all of his baby food myself, I have just found myself as a first time mummy unsure of the next step and the variety of food I can make for him at this stage. I hoped that this book would help me and guide me along the way so that I could be the mummy I always imagined I would be and provide tasty food for Bug especially as he doesn’t like the shop bought, ready made savoury meals.

Annabel Karmel’s Complete Baby and Toddler Meal Planner book was first published in 1991 and it has become an established classic as an indispensable guide to feeding babies and toddlers over two decades. This year was the 20th Anniversary of this renowned book and to celebrate the anniversary a completely revised and updated edition was published. It includes the familiar guidance Annabel Karmel provides with detailed, nutritional advice on how to give your baby the best start in life, time-saving tips, meal planners, new illustrations and brand new recipes with there being over 200 tasty recipes. This book is endorsed by Greet Ormond Street Hospital and provides advice on food for babies and weaning to toddlers.

Yummy Homemade Baby Food.

We have been weaning Bug for about 6 weeks now and it is going brilliantly. He loves his food and it’s so lovely to see him enjoy it. He’s always got a big smile on his face, a lovely messy smile. I had hoped to wait till he was 6 months old and try baby led weaning but he was ready a little earlier than expected. We started his weaning with baby rice and took it slowly moving on to porridge then other foods and tastes.

We have been using baby food in pouches and jars, he loves them and I am pleasantly surprised with the quality of the baby food. I have always planned on making my own, homemade baby food and stocking up on what I make by freezing it. I haven’t got round to do this until now, between Bug’s teething keeping me busy and going away it just hasn’t happened.

MAM Anti-Colic Self-Sterilising Bottle Review

I was lucky enough to receive a MAM Anti-Colic Self-Sterilising 130ml bottle when I went to the Baby Show in Manchester. As I breastfeed the fact that MAM bottles have a silk teat which is supposed to make the bottles be the closest thing to mum and for baby to still feel the softness was very appealing to me. I also really like that the bottle is BPA free. I was very excited about using this bottle with my expressed milk.

Highchair Procrastination

I am breastfeeding Bug and had been exclusively doing so until a few weeks back. I always wanted to breastfeed if I was ever lucky enough to have babies and even though there have been a few difficult times I absolutely love it. I had planned on waiting till as near as 6 months as possible before weaning him and going down the route of baby led weaning but things didn’t go as planned. When Bug was 20 weeks old we saw the Health Visitor to get him weighed and after having a chat with her she advised starting him on baby rice because of how often he was feeding night and day and the frequency of him waking up during the night for feeds.

We are really enjoying weaning Bug, it’s so lovely and fun seeing him try new tastes and enjoy his food. Its so adorable to see him open his mouth ready for the next spoonful and demand more with his little babble and noises.
