Bug's Dream Easter Garden Party.

With Bug’s 5th birthday landing a couple of days after Easter this year we have been thinking about throwing him a Easter themed garden birthday party. As he loves playing outdoors and getting wild with his friends we thought it would be a funtastic birthday party that he is sure to enjoy and remember.

As we have been talking about him having a garden party for his birthday where hopefully the Easter bunny will visit with lots of Easter eggs for the kids to hunt for and find, Bug took it upon himself to give his a few hints about what outdoor toys should be at his party for it to be a totally awesome Easter party for his birthday.

Easter Bunny Bounce fun day.

Making the most of the spring sun and not having work we had a lovely family day out at a local Easter Bunny Bounce fun day kindly organised by the Milford Haven Round Table.

As we arrived for an afternoon of fun the sun was shining down on us warmly. Bug’s face shone with excitement as soon as he saw the large selection of fun bouncy castles waiting to be bounced on.

National Trust’s Cadbury Eggsplorers Easter Egg Hunt.

For us Easter is not only a time when the Easter bunny visits with a few yummy chocolate egg treats, but also a time when we relish the beauty of the great outdoors on fun family adventures. We love nothing more than having adventures in the great outdoors, exploring the wonder of nature on lovely – hopefully sunny - countryside walks.

This Easter the National Trust are giving families the opportunity to combine a love of chocolate egg treats that have become famously connected to Easter with a love of getting outdoors and having fun families adventures thanks to their annual Cadbury Eggsplorers Easter Egg Trails.

Crafting a little Easter Friend - #craftylicious fun

Today Bug has been getting excited about Easter by doing some Easter and spring themed crafts.  He especially enjoyed making a little Easter friend using a craft kit he picked when we popped into Poundland yesterday.

Having a soft spot for sheep I was not surprised when he dismissed a little chick and a cute bunny in favour of an adorable sheep.

HobbyCraft Kids Easter Craft Kits giveaway.

I love arts and crafts, having enjoyed expressing my creativity since I was a child.  Now that I am a mum I love getting all arty and crafty with Bug enjoying seeing his creative side expressed and encouraging his creativity to spark and inspire new arts and crafts projects.

Whilst I am a strong believer in that you do not need a reason or an event to get creative with an arts and crafts project and that any day is a good day to get creative, the holiday seasons are the perfect excess to get creative with children and explore their creative side.

With Easter fast approaching now is the perfect time to get crafty with children and make Easter inspired arts and crafts projects.  To help you get creative with children this Easter HobbyCraft have kindly offered my readers the chance to win 3 Kids Easter craft kits; with 1 winner receiving a Bunny and Chick Hand Puppet Sewing Kit, a Pom Pom Wreath Making Kit and a Chick Pom Pom Kit from HobbyCraft.

Make your own cute Bunny and Chick Hand Puppets with the HobbyCraft Felt Sewing Kit, make a lovely Spring Wreath with Pom Pom Chicks with the HobbyCraft Pom Pom Wreath Making Kit and make 4 charming little Pom Pom Chicks that are perfect hanging decorations with the HobbyCraft Chick Pom Pom Kit.

Easter baking with bug.

With Easter landing on the same weekend as Bug’s 2nd birthday it has been the perfect excuse for me to get in the kitchen with Bug and bake some tasty treats for us all to enjoy to get in the Easter spirit and being the celebrations for Bug’s big day……not that I need much of an excuse to indulge myself with some scrumptious treats.

When I think of Easter and food many recipes, meals and treats spring to mind.  Gorgeous lamb dinners, Hot Cross Buns, Simnel Cake, Egg Nests with mini eggs, Easter themed biscuits and cupcakes, to name but a few.

I have fond memories of my mum cooking up a storm in the kitchen when I was young especially during Easter when the kitchen would be filled with delicious aromas of all the gorgeous food she cooked and baked.  Not only did my sister and I get to enjoy her wonderful food but we also helped mum, assisting her in the kitchen, especially enjoying decorating her masterful creations of cakes and sweet treats.  Our favourite ‘job’ was to decorate her mouth-watering cupcakes, getting a little messy as we embellished each cupcake.  Even though my cookery skills do not come close to my mum’s talent at cooking I hope to achieve the same fun and enjoyment in the kitchen with Bug that my mum did with my sister and I.

Easter fun for kids (for mums and dads too!)

Easter is a great time to get crafty with little ones and there are so many fantastic things to do that are fun for little ones.  I love art and craft as does Lee, we are a very creative family and we both want Tristan to have lots of fun getting crafty as he grows up.  Craft activities are great for children, it’s a great way to entertain them and it encourages their creativity and imagination whilst they are having lots of fun.  The list of ideas for fun for Easter themed crafts is endless, below are a few of my favourite fantastic craft ideas –

Childhood memories - Easter as a child

I used to love Easter as a child, not for the chocolate Easter eggs even though I did get given a few but for the fun and creative activities my mum would do with us.  We were lucky that my mum was creative with us all year round but I do have fond memories of Easter fun.
