Recyclable and biodegradable packaging materials are becoming standard. So, it reflects a holistic approach to sustainability.

Durability as a Virtue and Reducing Textile Waste

We live in a world dominated by fast fashion. Now, garments are often treated as disposable. Sustainable shapewear stands out for its durability. Built to last, these pieces resist wear and tear. It leads to reducing the need for frequent replacements. It saves money for consumers.

Moreover, it contributes to the broader effort to cut textile waste. Waistdear has brought many shapewear, including the waist trainer wrap, bodysuit and others. You can find sustainable or recycled shapewear if you want.

A Positive Shift in Consumer Behavior

The woman of today is a conscious consumer. They make informed choices that align with their values. Thus, the rise of sustainable shapewear reflects this broader shift in consumer behavior. Women choose products that enhance their curves and contribute to a healthier planet.

Looking Good, Feeling Good

Dressing Sustainably: Your Ultimate Guide to Eco-Friendly Fashion Materials

In recent years, the popularity of sustainable fashion seems to be increasing. We can find more and more brands competing to offer various ethical fashion products, from dresses, undergarments, activewear to accessories. In line with this, public awareness of implementing the principle of quality over quantity in choosing fashion products is also increasing. Of course, this is a positive trend, both for our planet and the fashion industry itself.

For some people, switching to sustainable fashion products is not that easy. We cannot deny that fast fashion offers many attractive designs and cheap prices. These advantages are a big temptation to shop, even if the quality is mediocre. On the other hand, sustainable fashion offers much better quality, but is still considered more expensive and lacking in design.

How Shapewear Can Help Change Your Posture

Shapewear is worn by women across the globe to slim their figure and enhance their body shape. These shaping garments can help to slim the back, waist, tummy and thighs as well as contouring the body for a more firm appearance.

These foundation wear come in a variety of compression levels to help smooth out problem areas such as love handles, muffin tops, belly pooches and more. They give an instant slimming and strong control underneath the clothes. A butt lifting shapewear can also give the derriere a lift.

Wearing shapewear has several benefits. It has now become a tool to help improve posture and also reduce back pain. Having good posture can contribute to the body's appearance and help to boost confidence. When a person has good posture, he/she is less likely to experience pain in the neck, shoulders, and back. For women who sit in front of the computer all day or lead a sedentary lifestyle, it is harder to maintain a good posture and later, may develop bad posture and pain on the neck and back.

Spring and summer style from Cotton Traders - trouser edit

GIFTED

With the arrival of spring, and summer on the horizon, it is time to pack away the winter wardrobe and embrace a spring/summer wardrobe.

As British spring and summer weather can be a tad temperamental with rain showers one day and bright sunshine the next, my spring/summer style often consists of trousers as they are great in all weathers. Trousers can offer protection from all weathers, warmth from the chilly rain and cover from the burning sun, as well as comfort and style. The beauty of a good pair of trousers is that they can be styled so many different ways and can be dressed up for a smart style or down for a casual, effortless look.

My favourite women’s t-shirts

AD

My wardrobe is filled with a selection of staple clothes that are part of my everyday outfits. My style is a mix of skinny jeans, leggings or Boho skirts, strappy vest tops or t-shirts, and maxi dresses with flip flops, Vans or black biker ankle boots.

I especially love t-shirts. In fact my 2020 lockdown style has predominantly been a t-shirt and PJ bottoms and I foresee this stylishness continuing in 2021.

The beauty of t-shirts are that they are versatile and comfortable plus are available in a wide variety of designs and colours.

As I love a t-shirt and they have featured heavily in my lockdown look, when I have not been entertaining 3 busy kids during lockdowns and juggling home learning I have wisely spent my time perusing the internet for some new t-shirts to treat myself to as a little pick-me-up…..and so my postie can see me wearing at least a different t-shirt when they deliver the constant supply of parcels that weirdly keeping arriving at our home.

So if you love a t-shirt nearly as much as I do and are looking for t-shirt inspiration take a look below at a few of the lovely women’s t-shirts winging their way to me after a late night online shopping spree.

What Swimwear Style Suits You?

Winter is slowly saying goodbye and soon we will be in the race to get out bodies ready for bikini season once again. Now that many of our favourite online shops are stocking swimwear once again, it might be tempting to stock up on swimwear before the summer kicks in.

However, how do we know which type of swimwear is the best for our body shape and style? There are so many different types of swimwear out there: bikinis, tankinis, swimsuits, monokinis, cut outs and more… the choices are endless and this can make things pretty difficult for us when it comes to choosing. Luckily we have some suggestions on what you might want to look for in a swimsuit this year...

Christmas party look

Christmas for us is a time for fun, family and celebrations. The whole month of December is awash with seasonal cheer and Christmas events galore.

Christmas school concerts, visits to Santa’s grotto, Christmas shopping trips and wonderful Winter Wonderland experiences are just a few of the events that fill my calendar in December.

Not only do I have family festivities to enjoy with the children but I also have the pleasure of letting my hair down for a couple of Christmas parties.

The only downside to having a few fabulous Christmas parties to attend is that I have to find the perfect party look.

River Island childrenswear collection

The other day I sent a photograph of the boys on one of our adventures to my mum. Even though it has only been a few weeks since she has seen them in the flesh she was shocked at how grown up they both look.

Both of them are changing and growing up way too fast. Milestones reached and achieved, clothes grown out of as they get bigger and stronger, new achievements are mastered and their characters develop.

Birthday wish list.

This month is my birthday. In a matter of a couple of weeks I turn 32.

Whilst I love celebrating other people’s birthday’s I have never been that fussed about making a big deal of my own, especially as I shy away from the limelight…..the thought of a surprise birthday party with all eyes on me fills me with dread.

As such I am happy with a low-key birthday and don’t desire or expect a big fuss or lots of gifts. Even more so since becoming a parent. Since I joined the ‘mum club’ I would rather our money be spent on the kids rather than Lee and the boys spending money we cannot afford on things I don’t really need. Homemade cards and gifts me the world to me and I love to receive them.

Even though I love homemade gifts and don’t want the boys to spend much on me, as Bug has gotten older and noticed us buying gifts for others - I dread to think how many presents we’ve bought over the last few months for his friends when going to birthday parties - he has been expressing a wish to go shopping with his dad and little brother to buy me something special. I know how sweet and lucky I am to have such a thoughtful young boy?

One of the things Lee hates is shopping. He doesn’t have the patience to go from shop to shop on the high street to buy new clothes and finds it a nuisance to shop around on online shops with it being a hassle to have to visit and buy from a number of websites to get a complete outfit or two.

Thankfully I have found him a great online store that thanks to selling a variety of designer men’s clothing brands all in one place so that he can enjoy the best online shopping experience on just one website.

To quench my love of personalised goodies and custom clothing creations I have found a superb company who offer t-shirt printing including personalised, custom and community designed t-shirts and hoodies on demand - Spreadshirt.

J Brand jeans – wardrobe essentials

As the end of summer approaches and a new month on the horizon where school runs will once again occupy my week days I need to have a wardrobe suitable for hectic mornings and mad dashes to get the school run done on time. With 2 demanding kids to get fed, washed and clothed in the morning ready to head out to school to get there on time my own needs and 'look' often gets neglected.

Gone are the days that I bother to get glammed up before setting foot outside of the house. My hair is commonly styled in a messy bun or quick plait – living up to stereotypical messy mum hair – and I don't have the time or inclination to be fussed with doing my make-up.

Whilst I go for a low maintenance look nowadays I still try to make an effort with my outfit and like to look good for the school run and the rest of the day.....no school runs done in PJ's here. To help make getting ready in the morning quick, easy and hassle free I find having a few key wardrobe essentials that can be dressed up or down, and worn with a variety of clothes and accessories the way to go. Also getting my outfit ready the night before helps as I can simply grab and go in the morning rather than stress out on what looks good.

Tailored clothing with a twist

I must admit I love a man in a smart tailored piece of clothing. Likewise I love men who are comfortable with their style and strut their stuff in unique, alternative clothes.

A combination of a tailored piece of clothing that is unique and quirky worn by a confident man comfortable with himself and his style is the jackpot for me.

Thankfully for me Lee shares my views on tailored clothing and prefers items that are unique and stand out from the crowd of same old suits.

Quenching our love of unique tailored clothes that look amazing worn by a confident man is Noose and Monkey.

Jacamo wish list.

As Lee very rarely gets any new clothes or shoes, wearing his existing clothes till they are completely worn, his wardrobe is looking rather old, tired and worn out.

With a summer filled with family days out and holidays to visit family to look forward to he has been a little downhearted about having such a drab wardrobe and that he will not be looking his best especially when seeing loved ones thanks to his aged clothes. But as he hates to treat himself, preferring to treat the kids and get them new clothes or use spare money for extra days out, he will just make do and not even consider getting anything new for himself.

As I hate that his old clothes make him feel blue, less confident and want him to feel good about how he looks especially when visiting his family who he rarely get to see (it has been a year this time since he last saw any of them in person), I have been shopping online to get him some new clothes to breathe some life back into his wardrobe.

Trilogy Stores wish list.

Whilst I would love to say I am a stylish person always styled to perfection and could label myself with the term 'yummy mummy' the truth is far from it. As I have only recently come to love my body the way it is after years of hating it and PCOS symptoms it showcases I’ve never really put much effort into being stylish. I tended to wear clothes to cover up rather than wear clothes I love the look of.

Along with a lack of confidence, family finances and a tight budget has also meant I rarely treat myself to new clothes and accessories. With my wardrobe being rather bare and far from the overflowing wardrobe filled with a beautiful collection of eclectic clothing of Carrie in Sex and the City which I’d watch with envy my wardrobe is filled with dull and basic essential clothing that I tend to wear to the death.

As I have come to love my body and myself for who I am and am more than a little fed up of wearing the same old frumpy and tired looking clothes I have recently made a vow with myself to expand my wardrobe and experiment with my style.
