Meaningful Mother's Day Gifts That Show You Care

During Mother’s Day we get to express love and appreciation for those incredible women who are our mothers and shape our lives. We can always give them quality time or heartfelt words. You can always make the occasion even more special with a customized gift.

The best presents are the ones that really represent and reflect personal connections, treasured memories and in this case, a mother’s unique personality. It can be a sentimental or practical item, but infused with meaning. The right gift will remind your mom how much she is really loved.

Definitively, personalized gifts are becoming a very popular way to make this day extra memorable. This is why, instead of generic presents, personalized Mother's Day gifts will add a heartfelt touch. And they’ll also show the thought, time and effort you put into choosing this truly special gift. They’ll tell a story, especially one of family, love and most importantly, of unforgettable moments.

CARAT* London Cosmo necklace

 AD GIFTED

As a jewellery lover I adore the shimmer and shine of jewellery, being a bit of a magpie who is drawn to the sparkle of diamonds and gemstones such as emeralds and sapphires. However, whilst I lust after jewelled pieces of jewellery I do not like the negative impact and damage mined precious stones have on the environment and absolutely abhor conflict diamonds.

Motherhood is one of the greatest stages in a woman's life. Being a new mother is not the easiest thing in the whole world but it’s a real miracle. Have no fear of making some mistakes because it’s more than normal to not be perfect at the beginning of being a new mom.

Picking up a present for someone is always a very tricky situation and it becomes trickier when it comes to a new mum. Most of the time, we tend to pick a gift that is useful for the newborn, but the best choice is to pick a present that is valuable for the mother herself.

The benefits of remote control and robotic toys for children plus 5 cool RC toys

#AD

Following on from our post about STREAM toys and the benefits of them for children here we are looking at the benefits of RC (remote control) and robotic toys for children.

STREAM learning

RC and robotic toys support STREAM learning. With RC and robotic toys being a tech toy they introduce children to the wonderful world of technology in a very fun way. Children can learn how a robot works and how to control one or can learn cause and effect as they control their RC toy.

As well as putting the T in STREAM thanks to the technological aspect, RC and robotic toys can also support other elements of STREAM learning. Depending on the type of RC or robot toy it can support science, reading, arts and so much more! For example a stunt RC car can spark conversation and learning about science topics such as motion, force and speed. Or a robot who sings and dances encourages learning the arts.

Buying gifts for long-distant loved ones

Our little family is a blended family of English and Welsh. Yorkshire meets Ceredigion, Wales.

As Lee, a Yorkshire man born and bred, moved to live with me in Wales where we moved away from my family to another part of beautiful Wales we both have family across the country. Not only is our family living in either Yorkshire or Ceredigion either as naturally over the years other family members have spread their own wings and moved elsewhere too.

With family living all across the country and a few abroad too, Christmas and birthdays can be tricky to send loved ones gifts across the miles. Over the years and many gifts later we have found that sending gifts we have bought here can be very expensive thanks to postage costs, with the delivery charges often costing more than the gift itself! To save money on posting gifts we have found the below gifts a great alternative and a lovely way to show the ones we love that we care regardless of the miles between us.

#GiftToFamily - A surprise for daddy

Giving gifts to loved ones is a lovely act that can mean so much.

It is nothing to do with the biggest, shiniest and most expensive gift either. It is also not to do with getting or expecting a gift in return.

Even the smallest, most inexpensive gift can be priceless and truly precious and unforgettable.

Small acts of kindness and heartfelt gestures can mean the world to people. They can show that people are kind and selfless whilst showing the excellent they a worthwhile and valued.

The act of giving a gift can convey love, thanks, appreciation and respect. Random acts of kindness and small gifts can lift spirits and add a little light of joy and love to one's day.

Inspired by the movement of random acts of kindness Saga are encouraging bloggers such as myself to surprise their loved ones with a gift. In the run up to Christmas, Saga Equity Release have launched a Gift To Family campaign in an aim to inspire people to think about their loved ones and the little things that they can do for each other.

Birthday wish list.

This month is my birthday. In a matter of a couple of weeks I turn 32.

Whilst I love celebrating other people’s birthday’s I have never been that fussed about making a big deal of my own, especially as I shy away from the limelight…..the thought of a surprise birthday party with all eyes on me fills me with dread.

As such I am happy with a low-key birthday and don’t desire or expect a big fuss or lots of gifts. Even more so since becoming a parent. Since I joined the ‘mum club’ I would rather our money be spent on the kids rather than Lee and the boys spending money we cannot afford on things I don’t really need. Homemade cards and gifts me the world to me and I love to receive them.

Even though I love homemade gifts and don’t want the boys to spend much on me, as Bug has gotten older and noticed us buying gifts for others - I dread to think how many presents we’ve bought over the last few months for his friends when going to birthday parties - he has been expressing a wish to go shopping with his dad and little brother to buy me something special. I know how sweet and lucky I am to have such a thoughtful young boy?

Gift giving made easy thanks to Find-a-present.uk

As someone who loves giving gifts to loved ones I always strive to give thoughtful gifts that the recipient will love. To find the 'perfect' gift I tend to start thinking well in advance of the occasion and spend a great deal of time looking for gift ideas until I find 'the one'.

Whilst I don't shy away from pricier gifts and tend to be generous when gift giving as a frugal shopper who loves a bargain I always shop around to get the best price and deal. Searching for the perfect gift and then shopping around to get the best price whilst worthwhile as I get to satisfy my bargain loving cravings and get to give my loved ones a lovely gift can be very time consuming.

Thankfully I’ve recently come across a great site that helps cut down the time getting gift ideas and finding a bargain.

Find-a-present.uk is a clever website that as the name describes is a site for finding presents. The site sources gift ideas from a large number of different online stores. The site is filled with lots and lots of items, with an awe-inspiring array of items covering a huge selection of categories such as toys, homeware, gadgets, personalised gifts and experiences.

Random Acts of Kindness – saying thank you with Tesco Flowers.

Whilst I do love birthdays and Christmas for gift giving, I am a big believer in showing thanks and love to people throughout the year. Showing someone gratitude, kindness and love is a lovely gesture and whether it is through gifts or kind actions being kind, thankful and loving is in my opinion a beautiful way to live your life.

Not only does the act of being kind and loving to family, friends and strangers who have touched your life make the recipient of the random act of kindness feel happy and appreciated but showing you care and are thankful also makes you feel happy and good too.

In the busy world we live in it can be easy to overlook showing gratitude or forget to make the effort to show loved ones and strangers we care. Whilst I do like to show my thanks and love to others on a regular basis through kind actions (helping, complimenting and supporting) and small surprise gifts or treats, I do welcome any excuse to show kindness and gratitude to others.

So when Tesco Flowers recently got in touch with me about their exciting Random Acts of Kindness campaign I just knew this was a campaign I had to get involved with.

Father's Day gift ideas.

It doesn’t matter how prepared and planned my life is, Father’s day always seems to catch me a little off-guard, and I find myself rushing around to find the perfect present. Not this time, however! I have done my shopping, and the presents are sorted. With that in mind, I thought it would be a good time for me to help any of my readers who aren’t quite sure what to get with my top list of Father’s day ideas.

Gadgets
The Father in my house loves technology. However, I never felt I could buy him something he would like because none of his gadgets make any sense to me. And then I realised that it didn’t matter which gadget it was, he seemed to love them all! The last time I bought him some light bulbs that he could control with his mobile phone, and the time before that it was a small camera that he could attach to his car to record his driving. Neither of them made sense to me, the products or their purpose, but they were well received none-the-less. If you are buying for a gadget-loving Father, don’t be afraid to head into the local gadget store and find something completely obscure. Chances are he will love it!

Delivered from the North Pole.

As we are now a family of four and Bug is older with a greater understanding of events I am super excited about Christmas this year. With Bug being excited and enchanted by the wonder of Christmas even more than last year and this being Jelly Bean’s first Christmas I want to make it a magical time for my children.

To help bring the magic of Christmas and Santa alive this year Santa’s Post Office have provided the little ones with a Letter from Santa to open a little closer to Christmas.
