Father's Day gift ideas.

It doesn’t matter how prepared and planned my life is, Father’s day always seems to catch me a little off-guard, and I find myself rushing around to find the perfect present. Not this time, however! I have done my shopping, and the presents are sorted. With that in mind, I thought it would be a good time for me to help any of my readers who aren’t quite sure what to get with my top list of Father’s day ideas.

Gadgets
The Father in my house loves technology. However, I never felt I could buy him something he would like because none of his gadgets make any sense to me. And then I realised that it didn’t matter which gadget it was, he seemed to love them all! The last time I bought him some light bulbs that he could control with his mobile phone, and the time before that it was a small camera that he could attach to his car to record his driving. Neither of them made sense to me, the products or their purpose, but they were well received none-the-less. If you are buying for a gadget-loving Father, don’t be afraid to head into the local gadget store and find something completely obscure. Chances are he will love it!

The history of paintballing

With Father's Day looming on the horizon next month on the 19th of June I have started thinking what the boys can get their dad as a 'we love you daddy' gift. Whilst we shy away from merchandise created and promoted for the specific holidays the day is a lovely reminder of showing our dad of the house how much we care, love and appreciate him.

As we are a household who loves arts, crafts and all things handmade we usually make a small gift, last year Bug made his daddy a lovely handmade canvas with a superhero themed poem declaring how he thinks of his dad as his hero. Along with a small handmade gift we also tend to treat Lee to something he has been thinking of getting or doing for awhile so that he gets something he wants and would have got himself anyway – if he has been eying up a new t-shirt he gets it for Father's Day or if he wants to got to the cinema or experience an activity we get him tickets.

This year we have plans on treating him to a day of paintballing.

Father's Day 2015 - crafting and gifting.

Having grown up without a dad I’ve never had a reason to celebrate or take note of Father’s Day. That all changed when I met Lee and we started our family. Whilst we do not go all out on Father’s Day with extravagant gifts, I’ve always helped Bug give his daddy a token of his love with a small gift.

As Bug is getting older he learning about the importance of gift giving, learning that it is kind and lovely to give gifts as well as receive them. Learning about giving gifts has meant that no day of celebration can go by without Bug wanting to give a little gift. This Father’s Day was no different he wanted to give his daddy a present.

Daddy was gifted a gorgeous handmade card from Bug. A colourful fish card made at school with a heartfelt message inside written by Bug himself.

Father's Day inspiration for retro gaming dads.

With Father’s Day fast approaching I have been browsing the internet for creative gift ideas for Bug to make for his daddy as well as looking to see if I can find any interesting, original gifts that we could buy.

Normally daddy only gets treated to handmade gifts and small, affordable gifts for Father’s Day but with daddy being extra busy at work and hardly home of late due to lots of overtime I thought it would be nice to treat him to an extra special gift this year.  Even though I know he loves the handmade gifts Bug makes him and cherishes the love that has been put into lovely sentimental gifts made by his son’s fair hands I thought it would be nice to see if we could get him a gift that he could use on the rare moments he has at home, providing him with a way to relax and enjoy during his downtime.

Father's Day 2013 gifts from Asda.

Even though Bug does not understand the concept of Father’s Day he loves buying daddy gifts.  Bug gets very excited if we pick up a little treat for daddy, for example he always gets excited if we pick up a packet of biscuits for daddy when shopping intuitively declaring them as “daddy’s biscuits”.  With Bug’s excitement and glee at buying daddy little gifts and treats so strong of late I know he will thoroughly enjoy treating daddy to a little gift and lots of cuddles this Father’s Day.

As I know Bug will be over the moon at giving daddy a little gift this Sunday I have been on the lookout for some lovely Father’s Day gifts that won’t cost the Earth.  Bug is going to get creative and make daddy a Father’s Day card and we plan on going on a little shopping trip to buy a gift for him to give his daddy on Sunday.  As we got a few bits and pieces for Father’s Day from Asda last year I have been browsing their website for Father’s Day gift ideas in preparation for our shopping trip in the next couple of days.
