Superhero School Uniform - #DebsDreamUniform

I’ve mentioned before when Bug made his Superfruit how much he loves superheroes. He is superhero mad. A day does not go by without me hearing the name ‘Batman’, ‘Spiderman’ or ‘Superman’ uttered by Bug and he often declares he is a superhero; being either his own unique superhero or one of his favourite superheroes or a mixture of all them rolled into one – Super-Bat-Bat (Superman and Batman), Captain-Iron-America-man (Ironman and Captain America) or another imaginative mixture of Superheroes.

He loves wearing clothes emblazoned with his favourite superheroes.

Bye bye cracked, dry feet - Flexitol Heel Balm review.

One of the downsides of having a very busy little boy who is constantly on the move and enjoys an active life is that my whole body aches at the end of the day from having chased him and entertained him all day with fun adventures. One area of my body that feels the pain from lots of walking, running and activity with my busy little Bug is my poor old feet.

Whilst the soles of my feet have always been tough thanks to years of walking barefoot wherever possible, lately my feet have been dry and cracked too.

To help me give my feet some much needed TLC Premier Healthcare and Hygiene Ltd sent me some Flexitol Heel Balm.

Memories of baby Bug, washing baby clothes, caring for sensitive skin and supporting Tommy’s #Mums4Tommys #shop

* I am a member of the Collective Bias® Social Fabric® community. This post has been compensated by #CollectiveBias and its advertiser. All words and opinions are my own *

When I was pregnant with Bug I felt like the luckiest girl in the World. All of my hopes and wishes of being a mum one day were at long last coming true as Bug grew inside of me.  As my baby bump blossomed I loved the process of preparing for the arrival of our baby.  I loved shopping for baby products; in particular I loved handpicking adorable newborn baby clothes ready for our arrival. During the last few weeks of my pregnancy as my nesting instincts kicked in I felt a true sense of satisfaction lovingly washing baby clothes.

Loneliness and the elderly - Stannah Stairlift survey.

Having grown up in a rural Welsh community where there is a strong ethos of looking after each other I grew up with the belief that helping others is important.  Thanks to my belief in helping others and a respect for others especially the elderly, since I was a child I have thought it is very important to care for the elderly.

Not only do I regularly spend time with and do my best to care for and help my elderly relatives, I also make sure to keep in regular touch with my elderly neighbours. For me personally I love spending time with elderly people; they have a lifetime’s worth of wealth to impart through their stories, are inspirational and are friendly company.

As I believe the British pensioners are valuable members of society I found the results of a recent YouGov poll conducted by lift manufacturer Stannah Stairlift to be a sad insight into how British pensioners feel.

Kids First Aid Kit.

I'm sure most parents can attest to the fact that inevitability at some point children will suffer from a bump or scratch or cut.

Bug is very prone to getting minor bumps and bruises. Thanks to his boisterous behaviour his knees always have a small bruise or two and he's had the odd graze and cut in his time from falling over or from vigorous play. It is becoming a common occurrence for Bug to have a little grazed knee or elbow along with colourful bruises, in fact during Bug's first term in school he came home with 3 accident reports from injuries sustained at school.

Having an accident prone little lad I always make sure to have a first aid kit at home ready for when accidents and injuries happen.

Thanks to Premier Healthcare and Hygiene Ltd I am ready for Bug's next injury with their Steroplast Kids First Aid Kit which is filled with all the kit needed for minor cuts, scrapes and injuries.

Win £500 with The Money Press e-book.

I love a good competition especially when the prize is something I have been lusting after as a treat to myself, Lee or close family, or a fab prize that Bug would love. Whilst I love entering competitions for particular prizes that would be appreciated by myself or my family, the competitions I cannot resist entering are those with a gift card or cash prize so that we can buy whatever we fancy, or put it towards our Christmas/birthday fund.

As I love competitions with cash prizes and am I a lovely, sharing kind of gal I wanted to tell you all about an interesting ‘write-a-review' competition to celebrate the new e-book 'The Money Press'. This competition on www.cashreview.co.uk is a little different from standard fill in a form competitions and has an impressive prize of a whopping £500!

The Best Places to Holiday in Wales.

If you’re looking for a getaway in the UK then Wales has some fantastic places to choose from and has something for pretty much everyone. Here are some of the best places in Wales to go on holiday…

Tenby
Tenby is without a doubt one of the most popular and picturesque holiday destinations in the whole of the UK. It has some amazing beaches and a beautiful little seaside town to wander around and relax. It also has a lovely little harbour and you can take a trip out to nearby Caldey Island. A great little holiday destination that’s perfect for couples and families. Find out more about Tenby at their visitor guide website.

Brecon Beacons
For those taking a trip to South Wales who want to spend some time outdoors with nature then the Brecon Beacons is ideal. The National Park is brimming with places to visit, such as Roman villages, waterfalls and churches & monasteries. For those who like outdoor activities then you can try your hand at mountain biking, rock climbing, white water rafting, hang-gliding and much more.

Llandudno
Llandudno has been a family favourite holiday destination for years and it’s still just as popular as it ever was. Situated along the North Wales coastline, there’s plenty to do for the whole family, not just in Llandudno itself but in the surrounding towns and countryside too. From watersports to walking along the promenade to a trip to the theatre, there’s lots to keep everyone happy. Just spend a weekend in Llandudno and you’ll no doubt want to go back.

Wednesday Words - Lighting up my night.

A family holiday to create amazing memories.

When I as a child we were lucky enough to experience a number of holidays over the years. Until I was a teenager when I experienced my first ever holiday abroad, all of our holidays were holidays within the UK. We visited an array of places all across the UK and enjoyed a number of different holidays including camping, staying at B&B’s, caravanning, staying at hotels and holidaying at holiday parks.

As I have amazing memories of our family holidays in the UK I hope to take Bug on holidays all across the UK over the years and introduce him to all the fun ways to holiday and all the amazing places to visit and explore here in the UK.

Once of my most treasured holidays where lots of fun adventures were had and amazing memories were created was when we stayed at a family friendly holiday park. As I loved our holiday at the holiday park and Lee too had a number of memorable and enjoyable holidays at a holiday park when he was a child, we plan on taking Bug on holidays at family friendly holiday parks across the UK.

As we are overdue a visit to see Lee’s family and Bug’s Nana could do with a holiday after a difficult year we are going to whisk her away with the rest of the family for a special family holiday near the coast at a Park Resorts holiday park.

Get a good night's sleep with Feather & Black.

I have always had a rollercoaster of a relationship with sleep. As I mentioned before when I wrote about sleep and my issues surrounding sleep, I went through a phase of suffering from insomnia which was at its worst when I struggled through the darkest days of my depression. Thankfully when I started feeling stronger mentally and emotionally my sleeping issues subsided and I once again experienced the sweet relief of sleep.

Since the days when I struggled to sleep I am pleased to say that the long nights of lying awake for hours and hours, wishing for sleep to wash over me, are in the past.  After struggling with depression and insomnia, apart from the odd night when I let worries fill my thoughts making it hard to drift to sleep quickly and peacefully, I happily experienced full nights of blissful sleep.

Then Bug was born and peaceful nights of sleep were once again a mere fantasy and I relished every second of sleep that I could get.  Having a child, a lively one at that who has never been much of a sleeper, strengthened my belief in how precious and important sleep is and that I should never take for granted a good night’s sleep.

Decorating Bug's bedroom Disney style.

When we found out we were expecting Bug we were excited about creating a unique nursery for our little baba. As both Lee and I love animals we soon settled on an animal theme for the nursery which we thought would be a great unisex design.

As Bug grew inside of me and my bump got bigger and bigger Lee worked hard on the nursery, pouring his love into creating the perfect room for his first born.  After hours and hours of painting by hand with love, sweat and tears being shed (plus a little help from mama-to-be too) Lee had created a wondrous animal themed nursery ready for when we lovingly welcomed Bug into the world.

Keeping in touch with loved ones across the miles.

Family is very important to me. I cherish the close relationships I have with my loved ones and love spending time with them. Unfortunately our family live miles away so spending time with them in person is not a regular occurrence.

As loved ones are important to me and I don’t get to see them often I value keeping in touch with the people closest to my heart which helps keep our relationships and love for each other strong. Another reason I make sure to have consistent communication with family is for Bug to know his family and for them to see him growing and changing in-spite of the many miles between us across the land in the UK or in some cases thousands of miles across the oceans to far flung countries.

To we keep in touch with family and close friends from a distance we -

Send postcards
When I was a child whenever we went on holidays, even short breaks in the UK or had a special day out we would always send a postcard to our loved ones. As well as sending postcards I have always loved receiving postcards from friends and family, seeing the picture on the postcard and reading the short note about what they have been getting up to.

As I love postcards and sentimentally have the postcards I have been sent from loved ones tucked away in my treasured memory box, I have carried on the tradition of sending postcards to loved ones.  I love sharing the art of sending postcards with Bug who loves to scribble his love on the postcard before popping it in the post box.  Sending postcards is a lovely short and sweet way to keep in touch with family across the miles.

Summer Hunt Activity Sheet by E-Outdoor.

We are huge fans of nature and the great outdoors. We love playing in the great outdoors, enjoying a natural childhood as we make the most of the wondrous world around us. Not only is playing in nature and the great outdoors lots of fun but it is also a fantastic learning experience.

As we love playing and learning in the great outdoors we have been making the most of the sunny weather that has been shining down on us so far this summer holidays by spending everyday playing outdoors.  Thanks to the lovely weather this summer has been the perfect time for Bug to accomplish a few more achievements from the National Trust’s 50 Things List and tick off a number of fun activities from his summer bucket list.

As well as having lots of fun outdoors playing and mastering new accomplishments, Bug has also been learning about nature and science whilst also developing his language and creative skills. Realising that summer can be the perfect time for children to explore the great outdoors, have fun and nurture their knowledge with fun learning activities, E-Outdoor have created a Summer Hunt Activity Sheet.

Wednesday Words - Naturalist.

Water play.

Having always been a little water baby Bug loves nothing more than playing with water….whether that is in the bath, splashing in the sea, going swimming or paddling in the pool in the garden.

As Bug loves water play he has been enjoying playing with his water play table nearly every day during the summer holidays.  The simple yet fun activity has been a hit with Bug who demands asks for a little play with his water table again and again.
